Most Sports are concerned about HIV/AIDS
What about Sports "entertainment."
Thought came to me last night, though it probably should have come earlier. You have a match where all four men are bleeding, not due to accidents, but becausethey bladed themselves. It struck me. Th WWE and all similar organisations encourage their people to bleed to make the sport look more dangerous, more real. NWA, WCW, ECW. There's been a lot of real blood bled in these rings. I'm wondering how serious the WWE and other organisations take the worry of blood-transmitted diseases. While not as big a deal as for the porn industry, where fluid was directly swapped, there's still a great potential for transmission. |
Yeah its a good point, I mean some matches you'll see guys dripping blood, and then stand over the other guy, I mean that just seems pretty damn risky.
Ive never heard of them doing Aids testing, but you would think they should if they dont already. |
They must have some kind of protocol in place, otherwise this would risk the health of the roster. I don't know exactly how they do this in professional sports, but it should definitely be mandatory in sports such as boxing, Ultimate Fighting, etc.
The whole roster of the Diva Search will definitely be screened before Vince fucks them all to see who advances ;) |
You know I never thought of that, but yeah I dont know either
|
I've actually considered this before. I'm almost certain they do screen the wrestlers to make sure they don't have any diseases that would make blading even more dangerous, but if they don't, they should.

Don't assume. Remember the porn industry's little near shutdown a few months back? |
^
But Vince can't be THAT stupid, I mean, If he banned the roll up because it was too dangerous he must be on the ball about all safety issues :shifty: |

Actually I never heard about the porn industry nearly shutting down. What happened? They weren't testing some actors/actresses, or they allowed actors that tested positive to still act? |
I was thinking that during the recent Edge / Orton match. Edge was bleeding from the mouth and Orton was rubbing his hands all over Edge's face.

I don't know if I ever heard how that all turned out. |

As someone already said, a porn star contracted HIV. As a result, they had to test everyone she did vids with, everyone they did vids with, etc. This ground the porn industry to a standstill, and all because they weren't practicing safety and using common sense (by checking their stars regularly). Ironically, an interview with Barbara Dare/Kim Wylde from @ a decade ago was talking about how this, sadly, would have to happen. She said something about how it would take a reality check before the porn industry would wake up. Sadly enough, she was right. It took nearly a decade and a potential EPIDEMIC before they woke up. I'm just hoping that sort of thing doesn't end up being an issue with the WWE and co. |
Yeah I sure hope they do test properly and regularly, because there's no way I would be able to live without porn.... oh, and WWE too :shifty:

I read somewhere awhile back, that this topic brought back to mind. What I read was that they do general Health cheaks on all there stars. Including the buried folks and such. They also do blood test on the wrestlers that are "Supposed" to bleed during a Match. Of course that dosn't account for the random biting the tongue, or spliting skn by accident when being hit with a stiff punch.
