I saw Pirates of the Carribean on DVD the other day.

What a shitty movie.

Dull. Boring.

Champion of Europa 12-27-2003 10:55 AM

I have it on DVD and I love that movie.

MrMeJW 12-27-2003 11:13 AM

Ninti, thats what I thought when I saw it in the theater. I am going to watch it on DVD over a friends house this weekend and give it another try. We will see.

el fregadero 12-27-2003 12:48 PM

I didn't really like it that much either.

PoisonIvy 12-27-2003 12:50 PM

I liked it. Johnny Depp is the most delicious man alive.

Disturbed316 12-27-2003 05:48 PM

I didn't think much of it. It was ok, but I didn't see what everyone was ranting and raving about.

The Mask 12-27-2003 06:07 PM

it was decent. I don't usually warm to movies dealing with pirates and ships and all that bollocks.

Triple A 12-27-2003 08:41 PM

I thought it was shit too. Way too long. I fell asleep a few times in the theater.

road doggy dogg 12-27-2003 08:43 PM

I loved itttt

But yeah, some parts really dragged on a bit

MoRcHeEbA 12-27-2003 08:49 PM

I loved it. I own it. I'm gonna watch it tonight :)

The Miz 12-27-2003 09:25 PM

all hype

loopydate 12-27-2003 09:36 PM

Fairly formulaic plot, but how can you not love Captain Jack Sparrow? IMO, that's the most original character I've seen in ANYTHING in years.

Jason Cage 12-27-2003 09:58 PM

best movie of the year.

well ok, maybe not, but still in the top 5 :p

Good Idea. I think i'll do that to.

Xen0ciDe 12-28-2003 03:07 AM

I thought it would be horrible.. but I found it pretty enjoyable overall. Arrr..

Boondock Saint 12-28-2003 03:53 AM

Good stuff, a tad long, but I enjoyed it none the less.

fonzy 12-28-2003 11:16 AM

Johnny Depp MADE that movie. Seriously, every line Sparrow has is sheer class. Geoffery Rush was awesome as well.

Orlando Bloom has never "wowed" me. All he does in each movie he makes is learn a new facial expression to add to his otherwise cardboard-like performance.

In Fellowship, he learned the "I can look hunky by staring into the distance" look. In Two Towers, he learned the "I can look concerned after my friend has taken a header off a cliff" look. In Pirates he learned the "I can look like I like a woman's breasts" look.

I haven't seen ROTK yet (:$) but I assume he learns a new one there too.

God he shits me. If it weren't for Legolas' awesome use of weaponry, I'd hate him.

Mikey 12-30-2003 12:04 PM

It wasnt great but it was alright

Draven 12-30-2003 04:08 PM

I thought it was a great movie, and I usually dont like pirate movies.

Disturbed316 12-30-2003 04:20 PM

Hook is the greatest pirate movie of all time

:shifty:

Jason_Hawk 01-03-2004 08:07 PM

I love this movie, its awesome. I think its funny how Johnny Depp acts drunk through the entire movie

YOUR Hero 01-03-2004 08:42 PM

What?

People didn't like this show?

This is absurd.

I wouldn't say drunk so much as a huge concoction of different states and emotions:

Not quite sane, not quite insane. Not gay, but not straight. Not sober, but not completely smeshed. Not straight, but not high.

He's this huge mixture of things that you can't put your finger on and so he winds up being a bit of everything.

Hey, to me he is pure eye candy. I find his acting quite bland. Like alot of these Hollywood people, boring to listen to, but yummy to look at.

Buzzkill 01-03-2004 11:57 PM

I liked it because Johnny Depp is the man.

I'll never ask why someone didn't like this movie cause we all have our own tastes but guys, Keira Knightley - I mean, damn!

Anyhow, this is how I am with the Matrix. So many people love it yet I thought it was utter shit. So whatever floats your boat I guess and for me, this movie owns...

Y2Ant 01-05-2004 11:28 PM

At work, it was the longest running (July-October) movie of 2003.

Apart from Matrix/LOTR, it was also my favorite :o

He's playing it as if he was his mate Keith Richards, apparently.

Ninti the Mad 01-06-2004 08:22 AM

It's a really predictable movie. That's what I dont like.

YOUR Hero likes predictable movies.
