WWE's New Dress Code & Holly's Objection
 

I have to agree 100% with Holly on this. I know they want people to think WWE is culured and stuff or something but they work hard why not let them relax in sweat pants of baggy jeans or something comfortable if they are going to be forced to sit somewhere for a long period of time

I agree with McMahon being upset, simply because I refuse to agree with Bob Holly. Now if Kurt said this, then he'd have a point.

Yeah, this is a stupid idea. I can understand having a few guidelines against them looking like slobs, but Christ, let them be comfortable.

No, what's next is the Big Show getting over.

So, let me see what they are saying here. They want their wrestlers to look presentable and act accordingly off TV and the camera. But on TV they can make other wrestlers bleed, swear black and blue, wear scantily clad clothing (the divas, and sometimes Rico), goose stepping and doing Hitler salutes, giving fingers, crotch chops and etc...


You'd figure they'd want to clean up the side of the business that the whole world see's on TV and not the side that you hardly ever see.

It doesn't matter what they're wearing to and from the wrestling world, the cameras are on them later anyway. What they wear in real life can't possibly be any worse than what they generally wear on-show. The divas especially. Dress code just doesn't seem to have a point when it comes to professional wrestlers...

I dont think its unreasonable for the WWE to ask their EMPLOYEES to dress a certain way. In every office job Ive ever had Ive had to dress up, and in some cases I had to travel as part fot he job, and yes I still had to dress up.

Most pro sports have their players dress up to a degree and its just about looking professional. You never know when they may have to meet with TV execs or sponsors.

As for what happens in the ring, well thats like saying a football player cant get dressed up to come to work because he's going to go out on the field wear tights, possible bleed and engage in pile-ons with a bunch of other sweaty men. They can always go in the lockerroom, and I dont know, take a shower, get cleaned up, put back on the suit, and they'll look professional again. Same thing can happen with wrestlers.

Bob is just angry because he has to go out and buy a suit.

Well, no. We're not saying that they CAN'T dress that way.

Also, when I've been asked to dress for work, the dress code was the same for travel and in-house unless the jobs were radically different. If they were, both tended to still look good, but one would accomodate an outdoor environment.

However, it seems pointless to try and ask people to dress for success when they're known for their on-camera and public roles as slobs, fashion mistakes, and sluts. It's reasonable to ask them to do so as employess, it's just that it makes very little sense for them to actually do it.
