What a load of shite. How some of that can even acheive a nomination is a joke.

asphyXy 07-28-2004 07:48 PM

KingofOldSchool 07-29-2004 05:00 AM

...

It's just always the same. Britney and christina and Justin no matter what they put out, have to have a nom..this is fucking mtv. I remember back in the day, the mtv awards were mostly centered on rock perfromances by good rock bands..and the rest wasn't so bad either.
But now it's shit. The only rock you get is fucking Hoobastank and Simple Plan, give me a break. While they cater to all the teenyboppers and fucking lame ass wiggers who wanna think D12 has any sort of talent going for them.
Notice how most of the rock bands come out with the creative and new interesting videos...yet britney gets a best vid nom for what? Kissing a dude on scren, and dancing all sulty and seductively? Give me a break. Same thing goes for mainstream hip-hop.

That's why it's no longer interesting to watch. So much fluff.

I wish I could morph back to 1992 right about now. :'(

Well, here's how I think they pick Best Video of the Year category.

They picked Outkast and Usher because they have had the two biggest singles since the last VMAs.

They picked D12 because Eminem is in the group, and Eminem has been nominated for every Video of the Year since 2000 (and he's won it twice).

They picked Toxic because the video got alot of buzz about how provocative it was. That is basically it.

And Jay-Z's 99 Problems caused alot of controversy because Jay gets shot in the video. Not to mention it was Jay's last video.

That's how they pick them sadly.

I'm pulling for Prince.

Ace Blizz 07-31-2004 10:41 PM

Im glad to see Jay-Z nominated. That "99 Problems" was refreshing, Im tired of seeing all the 1/2 naked girls in the video. Jay took it back to simpler times.
