Favorite Era

What’s you’re favorite era and why? :D

Mayo 08-01-2004 09:16 PM

Welcome to the Forums. There was a poll on this topic a few weeks back, with many more eras to choose from.

From that list, I'll choose the Attitude Era because that is when the Monday Night war was at its peak, and stars like Stone Cold and The Rock made it big.

Funky Fly 08-01-2004 09:17 PM

The WWF days were great, but Attitude saw a rise in better wrestling and more realistic storylines. Now is good, but it's still just Attitude-lite.

Loose Cannon 08-01-2004 09:19 PM

The Federation Days. Mostly 97.

Reason: Bret, Owen, Pillman, Davey, Anvil

slextremely 08-01-2004 09:38 PM

Federation years... i suppose i liked it best because i was a kid.

MVP 08-01-2004 10:16 PM

Attitude because a lot of deserving workers got pushed, the storylines were more entertaining, and WWF started beating WCW in the ratings wars.

V 08-01-2004 10:47 PM

Attitude

Austin, Rock

that's all i have to say

Bazooka 08-01-2004 11:31 PM

I like both era's... but I went with now since I only really started getting into wrestling in 99(end of attitude era was 2000).

Volchok 08-01-2004 11:52 PM

Attitude.. mainly because of the whole Corporation Vs. Ministry and Corporation Vs. DX... I didnt like the Corporation but I had to go with them with the whole Undertaker storyline... that shit was so well thought out.. i wish the writers gave that much effort now a days... and with Undertaker strapping Austin to his symbol.. that shit was crazy...

mrslackalack 08-02-2004 12:11 AM

The Attitude era is one word: BRILLIANT

and if is wasnt for the Attitude era We would only be watching wrestling with Tony Schavione commentating on TNT.

ilt_undertaker 08-02-2004 12:37 AM

The McMahon-Helmsley era

:shifty:

Zen v.W.o. 08-02-2004 01:21 AM

....

Hart Foundation owned, so the federation years. But only from 1996-97, which was the groundwork for "attitude"

Edge 08-02-2004 01:47 AM

The good ol' Fed Days.

Volchok 08-02-2004 02:25 AM

i second the McMahon-Helmsly era... :|

James Steele 08-02-2004 02:50 AM

Hello, I am JamesSteele also known as "The F***ing Man!".

I did a thread on this a couple of months ago weeks ago, but as mayo said there might be a new one. So read it and read the rules before you bump it (if you do, which i don't recommend).

Federation years rule... up to the point where Nash held the title

LK 08-02-2004 09:10 AM

The Attitude Era - Austin, The Rock, DX, Mankind etc

The Cerebral Assassin 08-02-2004 02:51 PM

I like the era that sold the most tickets and drew in the most money. Therefore, it's between the 80's and late 90's.

FlashyT01 08-03-2004 08:36 PM

The attitude era because that's when I looked foward to buy the PPV

Batsu 08-03-2004 10:22 PM

from 1997-end of Attitude.

because Bret vs Austin was my favorite feud from those days. Only Austin-Rock, and the evolution of HHH-Rock compared...

123 kid 08-04-2004 09:32 AM

Attitude!
Reasons: (in no particular order)

1: When I started watching wrestling
2: The Rock
3: Austin
4: Foley
5: DX
6: Austin V Vince
7: Corporation
8: Ministry
9: Undertaker
10: Great tag team division (Hardys,Dudleys,E&C,Outlaws,APA...)
11: Pushes given to the right people.

HankScorpio 08-04-2004 09:37 AM

Attitude era - it was when I was the most inebriated, therefore I enjoyed it 10x

Lara Emily 08-04-2004 09:47 AM

Federation Era I guess that includes the early 80s right?

I disagree that actual wrestling got better not until 2000 anyways, 98 and 99 were not that hot for in ring action

deathtrap 08-04-2004 09:58 AM

Attitude was easily the best. Best storylines, wrestling, wrestlers. Also, there was no fear of censorship.

The Cerebral Assassin 08-04-2004 02:59 PM

From April 1998 to August 1999 was the golden age of the WWF's sports entertainment.

After Russo left, things took a dive and they've crashed three hundred miles beneath rock bottom since.

James Steele 08-04-2004 03:47 PM

Uh-oh, a Russo-ite.

Russo didn't do much of shit in WWF. He had a few good ideas and some that were risque enough to garner attention/viewers.

VinnieRu didn't help WCW did he? And how much is he helping TNA?

The Cerebral Assassin 08-04-2004 03:54 PM

When exactly did Russo leave the WWF?

I know it was sometime in September.

Hey, he did help WCW out of business, didn't he. :)

Sephiroth 08-04-2004 04:27 PM

The Attitude Era.

I'll have to say Federation, since I missed all but the end of Attitude.
