And i just seen Ultimo Dragon v. Rey Mysterio at World War 3 '97....damn, i miss those WCW cruiserweight matches...another one i got was Eddie Guerrerro v. Rey Mysterio...****1/2..yea, i know you guys are prolly like "whatever bitch" but why cant the WWE capitalize on their talent?????

Cause of Vince's Hoss fetish and the fact they have to tone them down to protect them...

There's only so far superman powers can take you.

To be far to Vince...I know many of people who think that Big Show, Batisita, Triple H, and Kane all kick ass just because they are so big. For marks it is a selling point...

But as far as the Cruiserweights being mishandled, they can sell too

Johnny Vegas 08-03-2004 08:21 PM

Yes they can, i was watchin the "Monday Night Wars" and Jericho couldnt have said it any better...WCW was on top because of the following: Great angle (nWo) and the influence of GREAT WRESTLERS i.e. cruiserweights, benoit, jericho, malenko..damn, should i even go on!

Batsu 08-03-2004 09:18 PM

Yeah. WCW had great WRESTLING.

Problem was, they tried too much to play "catch up" to WWE, and that's when they started sucking. (Outrageous gimmicks, to "Attitude" style programming).... they had the nWo, and while it was great at first, everything else took a backseat.

Good point plus not pushing wrestlers besides Goldberg, They had Jericho, Rey, Benoit, Eddie,Regal, Nick ''Eugene'' Dinsmore and many others in their low to mid-card, all of them now Prime Time WWE players now.

He wrestled for WCW in 98-99 He wrestled on many WCW Sat. Night Matches and he wrestled on a couple of Nitros and Thunders' I remember he used Jerichos old song and he jobbed to the newly turned heel Cat once.

Well all i know is the WWE only has its WRESTLERS on smackdown and i guess "entertainers" on RAW...also, the WWE should have picked up on some other talent i.e. Jerry Lynn, Elix Skipper (i thought he was good in WCW), Mike Sanders (can cut great promos), etc...and get rid of the likes of people who just waste space..

The One 08-04-2004 10:10 PM

Though I will say this, I will give credit where credit is due. Eric Bischoff has a natural eye for talent, just his vision was off....he wanted the big name guys to stay big name guys, and the incredible talent to fill in space with exciting matches in between the storylines with the big name guys...I guess nobody told Jericho/Malenko/Benoit/Saturn/Guerrero/Mysterio/etc. that they were sup[osed to take a backseat :/

I agree 100 percent. Sanders had the Mic Skills to be a Randy Orton type start and his 3.0 finisher was a neat name for a finisher.
