Tim Brown (thats TIM BROWN) is probably leaving the Raiders

Thats what the buzz is about. Apparently he doesnt want to be the # 4 receiver on a team and wants to go somewhere where he'd be a # 1 or retire.

Dunno the full story but Im sure more is going to come out later today on this

MoRcHeEbA 08-04-2004 04:34 PM

he should retire a raider, but I'm sure he'll go somewhere else.

The Outlaw 08-04-2004 04:36 PM

Cry about it timmy.

Seriously, he shouldn't have been the #1 receiver last year. I guess he feels he should get special treatment for being there so long?

The Miz 08-04-2004 07:17 PM

If he wants to be the #1 reciever on a team he try the CFL

DaveWadding 08-04-2004 07:25 PM

or the Chiefs.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 08-04-2004 10:52 PM

Yea where is he going to be a #1?

samichna 08-04-2004 10:54 PM

Toronto Argonauts

Gertner 08-05-2004 03:22 PM

The rams :)

#1-norm-fan 08-05-2004 06:10 PM

Yeah, they were gonna use him as the 4th or 5th reciever in Oakland. That would be a little crazy to see. I don't know where he could go this year where he could have a big role on the team AND have a shot at winning a championship.

DaveWadding 08-05-2004 06:19 PM

The Rams do need a good #3 to draw coverage away from Holt/Marshall/Ike

#1-norm-fan 08-05-2004 06:22 PM

Actually, KC's recievers are pretty bad.

DaveWadding 08-05-2004 06:43 PM

Which is why I suggest the Chiefs :p

LoDownM 08-05-2004 06:53 PM

Yeah, my poor Chiefs have no recievers :(

Jesus Shuttlesworth 08-05-2004 11:23 PM

I dont even know any of the Chiefs WR except for Dante Hall

Gertner 08-06-2004 01:14 AM

johnnie morton, eddie kennison

Jesus Shuttlesworth 08-06-2004 01:21 AM

Yea Morton too

I don't really know about Kennison though

road doggy dogg 08-06-2004 03:17 AM

Yeah too bad they're all like injured right now :|

Gonzo 08-06-2004 03:24 AM

I would just retire. These players that try to play forever when they have nothing left make a mockery of themselves.

LOL. God forbid someone does what he loves for as long as he possibly can.

Remember, football players are humans... and most of them love the sport.

I'd rather see an old man try his best to keep playing until he can no longer walk under his own power, than to see someone make millions in the sport and walk away when he feels he has enough money, having never actually loved playing.

Tim Brown > Ricky Williams, definitely.

I can't hate on any old man trying to extend his dream a little farther. Even if you end up being a hinderance. i.e. I love Eddie George.

Gonzo 08-06-2004 03:17 PM

There is a point at which you don't have it anymore. Too many players these days don't realize that. Emmitt Smith really took a turn for the worst when he signed with AZ.

People still pay to watch Hogan, no matter how useless he is.

Same with Jordan... he was a name...

That's what Emmitt is all about.

Brown, I don't know about wanting to be #1, but I think he could still play. Especially with the ranks of WRs around. And at a high level. And I think that's his right, because whether it's a spectator sport or not, it's still a profession, and when he's done playing, there aren't many options left.

So :y: I can't hate on any players playing for too long. I used to think it was bad, but I was an idiot then.
