British bands live

This week I have seen some decent British bands live, tonight it was Douglas who will sadly split up after this tour.
On Monday it was My Awesome Complimation and the newly re-juvinated Not Katies who have changed loads after they're time on Trouble TV.
Anyone else seen some decent British bands live lately.

Saw Slade (not the original line up) at the Rock and Blues. Going to see Motörhead in November.

Ska-Wars 08-04-2004 10:28 PM

I haven't seen a good British band in a long time. Hopefully I should be going to the Do The Dog gig in London on the 14th which has about 5 or 6 British bands. I urge anyone who likes their ska to go.

CooL. They kept playing Ace Of Spades tonight.
So Noddy wasn't singing, they're from near me.

Go see Franz Ferdinand, Snow Patrol or Zutons.

They are all amazing live.

Very nice, they're a great live band. :)

Blue Demon 08-04-2004 10:51 PM

Last Brit band I saw live was Razorlight back in April, and they were excellent. I was blown away, one of the best gigs I've been to, even if it was a touch short.

Saw Franz Ferdinand a couple of weeks before that, and they were immense too. Really into their live performance.

Going to see the Darkness supported by Ash in 3 weeks.

The Destroyer 08-05-2004 08:13 AM

Saw Aereogramme support Isis back in March, they were pretty good.

Last British band i saw live was Motorhead a couple years ago, sweet as fuck:y:

They're playing my uni in the autumn too:love:

Thinking about it, I don't think I've even seen a British band headlining a gig before.

LK 08-05-2004 01:17 PM

I have only seen two non-brittish band, the chillis and Electric Six and most of the gigs I have been to were ace. I have seen Radiohead (the best), Oasis, Feeder, Mull Historical Society and Travis (twice) and each was really good - great. Only bad gig I have been to was Idlewild which was ruined by this s****y support group called Laeto or something like that. They crushed my spirit and I wasn't looking forward to Idlewild anymore. Can't remember much of that gig.

The Destroyer 08-05-2004 02:14 PM

I've seen Laeto opening for Cave In, personally I thought they weren't too bad...

asphyXy 08-05-2004 02:41 PM

The last one I saw was Iron Maiden with Dio and Motorhead.

The Mask 08-05-2004 02:46 PM

wait, I saw Muse

El Capitano Gatisto 08-05-2004 08:52 PM

I don't really like Ash.

Disturbed316 08-05-2004 08:54 PM

Saw Bucks Fizz at Chesington World of Adventures one year.

ct2k 08-05-2004 09:34 PM

Ash are good live:y:

Outsider 08-05-2004 09:56 PM

Douglas?

I've seen them and know they were good. But I can't remember where.

I've missed Not Katies twice now. They played Frome once, when I wasn't in town and Swansea (along with Spunge and some other bands I havent heard of) about a week ago but I missed it due to not being able to drag anyone along.

Fair Enough, each to their own.

I saw them in May in London, they played a pretty long set, a good mixture of old and new material.

I'd love to see them again, AND The Darkness on the same bill.

I heard they (Ash) were gonna support the Chilis, but that was only at Murrayfield, and Hyde Park got stuck with Chicks on Speed....

They've supported Hundred Reasons and Lostprophets I think.
Not Katies are cool live, not the best but decent for only a fiver.

The best British band I've seen live were Karloff. Played here a few weeks back.

http://www.kultkarloff.com for some songs.

Ferocious 08-06-2004 11:28 PM

Reef are a great live band, I saw them at Middlesbrough Music live last summer with The Darkness, Razorlight, Junior Senior and the Bandits
