The first person knocked out of the rumble is now the WWE champion.

Jeff Jarrett got his ass kicked by Chyna for the IC title with flour,kitchen sink, and an ironing board the NIGHT before he went to WCW and become world champ within a month.

In 1998 Mick Foley was a contender for the TIME Magazine
title, which was to be decided by an online vote. A huge turnout of wrestling fans gave Foley over 50% of the vote. However, before the final count Time removed him from the competition. HAHAHA! You're right! I totally forgot about that! JBL got knocked out by Benoit I think when he tried to throw him over or something and Chris reversed it, right? Or something unexpected like that.

Damn... that's not technically irony, persay, but it's quite hilarious nonetheless!

He wasn't WCW world champion within a month at all. He joined them in October 1999 and didn't get the title until April 2000.
