I hope Chris Sabin finally gets the belt back.
|
Countdown Note: The 30 minute pre-game show promoted Sabu vs. Raven numerous times. I realize that it's pre-taped, but they should have done a live cut-in to make an announcement or at least run a crawl across the bottom of the screen. I praise them for trying to get the word out on their website and mailing list, but really, they should have made an announcement during the pre-game as well.
The TNA Spanish language announce team asked us not to pirate the PPV broadcast. They aired a video feature, including clips building to Sabu vs. Raven II Raven came to the ring and said that Sabu was a coward and was faking an injury to get out of wrestling Raven. Raven said that Sabu was doing exactly what the Sheik trained him to do, be a coward. Raven said that since Sabu was too scared to show up, Raven said that perhaps Sonjay Dutt would take up the gauntlet. Raven asked if Dutt was going to be the third coward, behind The Sheik and Sabu. Mike Tenay noted Sabu injured his back wrestling in Buffalo, New York. That would have been the three-way with Teddy Hart and AJ Styles. Dutt came out, taking the challenge. They showed two hooded individuals watching from the stage. Late in the match, Dutt hits Raven with an enziguiri and ascended to the top rope. Dutt came off the top with a flying clothesline. He began attaching two dog collars (attached to the ring ropes) to Raven as a way to trap him. He nailed Raven with several trash can shots. He threw Raven over the top but he landed on the apron. Dutt went to the top but Raven grabs him and slams him off the top through a table on the floor. Raven went to grab Sonjay, who threw a fireball in Raven's face. Dutt threw Raven over the ropes and choked him with the chain. The referee rang the bell. Your winner, Sonjay Dutt! The hooded individuals (New Church) stared at the ring. They went to a pre-taped interview with NWA champion Jeff Jarrett. Mike Tenay asked him about the Vince Russo-Dusty Rhodes friction. Jarrett said that Russo is doing everything he can to keep Dusty under control, but Dusty knows how to play the game. Tenay brought up Monty Brown's reaction to the Jarrett title defense against Jeff Hardy. Jarrett said Brown was a AA ballplayer who wants to try and make it in the major leagues. Tenay challenged that statement and Jarrett said that it takes more than a little charisma and one move to make it in this business. Tenay brought up the Jeff Hardy match, noting it was their first-ever meeting. Jarrett said that there have been a lot of big title matches in TNA and the odds were always stacked against him. He said that Hardy is the new favorite son of TNA and will be the biggest match in both their careers. He said that on 9/8 he will prove why he is the King of the Mountain. |
Whoa! Dutt beat Raven?.... just, wow.
|
Yeah really. Looks like they're finally gonna push Sonjay a little.

He said that whoever wins the match between Jeff Hardy and Jeff Jarrett on 9/8, they had better sign for a match with him by 9/9. Kid Kash and Dallas came out. NWA Tag Team champions The Naturals vs. 3 Live Kru Mike Tenay praised The Naturals recent win streak saying that they are on the verge of proving to the wrestling world that they are the real deal. This was the best match on TNA in weeks. TNA should just realize that there is one person who deserves to be the nucleus of the company, and that's AJ Styles. Kid Kash was awesome here too, and pulled out some great heel work as well. |
Thanks for the updates. It sounds like a pretty disappointing show to me, but I wasn't expecting much from it this week. I'll probalby try to download it and check out some of the matches anyway.
|
WAY TO GO Sonjay.
|
The main event proves two things, Kid Kash is awesome at getting the crowd to hate him, and AJ Styles is TNA...him and Raven.
BTW, Mike Tenay finally called the Twist of Fate the Twist of Fate. |
who were the two hooded guys during Raven's match?
