dvd player help

Alrighty i burned a VCD with nero and decided to play it on my dvd player (toshiba Sd-2800). However sometimes i would notice that the picture would periodically for like 1 second become very jumpy or just freeze for that one second( audio and video stay in sync though after the freeze/jump happens). I thought it might be my disc, however when i played it on my computer using any program that plays video file it worked perfectly. So i'm thinking it might have something to do with the lens of my dvd player? If i am correct and it is something to do with the lens of the dvd player is there anyway that i can fix this problem from happening at all?

Couldn't resist. Have you played VCDs on your DVD player before using the same method? If not then it might be the DVD player in general, not just the lens.

does this happen at the same spot repeatedly, if so then it might not be the dvd player. anyways you could try getting a dvd cleaner disc. i used to get squares on my screen every so often till i started using one.

Well yeah i used the same methods for all my vcds that i make. See the weird thing is: Lets just say at the 1 minute mark of my vcd the picture/frame freezes for 2 seconds. Thats what happens what i put the cd in my dvd player and it starts to play the vcd automatically. HOWEVER, when the dvd player loads the cd and i forward to the 1 minute mark the next time it won't skip at all.

I have had this kind of problem before, I worked out it was the cheap shit disks I was using, My dvd player hated them, the computer didnt care and played them fine.
same as when you burn an audio cd and it plays fine on the house sterio but it wont play in the car, I think it comes down to how good the player is.
