In Need of Anti-Virus and Pop-up Killers

I just recently got the internet on my main computer and I'm interested in downloading a good anti-virus program and a pop-up killer. If anyone knowns a few good ones I could download, could you please tell me. Thanks

for a pop up killer, if you go to screensaver.com and get one, i think one comes with it

Google Toolbar is a good popup killer, or you could just do what I do and use Netscape.

Norton is the best anti-virus software, look into getting that. McAfee is pretty good also.

www.lavasoft.de for ad-aware

www.mozilla.org to download firefox (A better webbrowser than IE with a built-in pop-up blocker)

http://www.grisoft.com/ for AVG anti-virus

All free

Norton for Virus protection, and Google Toolbar for popups

AVG free anti virus is great. It scores just as well and sometimes better than Norton or Macafee.

As for pop ups... I use the Google toolbar. It's a real time saver and it comes with a built in pop up blocker. There is also a program called Pop Up Stopper if you just want to block pop ups without adding a toolbar to your browser. Hell, use them both at the same time if you want. They are both free.
