Road Doggy Dogg:

You should learn how to read the scheludes BEFORE picking the win/loss records...

The Green Bay Packers have NO CHANCE of going 13-3 nor will Tampa Bay hit double digit wins.

Your picks suck.

Stick to the NHL.

Ok well let's see:

Week 1: @ Carolina
Favre always pwns on MNF. GB wins

Week 2: Chicago
... GB wins

Week 3: @ Indianapolis
GB loss

Week 4: New York Giants
KGB will have a field day with their O-line, GB win

Week 5: Tennessee
No Jevon Kearse gives Ahman Green a much better game. Tennessee's got a lot of young guys on the team this year so eh, I'm not too sold on them. Plus it's another MNF game. GB win

Week 6: @ Detroit
Even though I hate it, Favre PWNS the Lions. GB win

Week 7: Dallas
Please. GB win

Week 8: @ Washington
Washington's secondary will do a good job limiting Favre, but Green will have a good game. GB win

Week 9: bye

Week 10: Minnesota
GB and Minnesota will split... GB wins at home though

Week 11: @ Houston
Houston will be good this year, but not THAT good. GB win

Week 12: St. Louis
If Marshall Faulk is healthy and playing like Marshall Faulk at this point in the season, St. Louis has a chance. I don't see that happening, so GB wins this one.

Week 13: @ Philadelphia
By this point Westbrook will either be the real deal, or they'll have traded for a better back. In either case, Philly should have this one. GB loss

Week 14: Detroit
Favre > Detroit's secondary. GB win

Week 15: Jacksonville
I don't know, but Jacksonville hasn't impressed me at all this year. Leftwich needs to prove me wrong. GB win

Week 16: @ Minnesota
See above, GB loss

Week 17: @ Chicago
By this point in the season Chicago will just be thankful the end of the season is over. GB win

There, 13-3

And if/when I'm way off, doesn't matter because I probably won't even be here for anyone to laugh at me

Green Bay wins the NFC North because Minnesota will go no where with Tice. They always underachieve.

Panthers win the NFC South, that is pretty much a gimmie, Saints are just like the Vikings.

Pats take the AFC East, after that every division has some pretty good competition.

First your talking pre-season.

2nd the just re-signed Pace.

They have there offense in tact and a rookie RB ready to step in.

There defense is "questionable" but it always is w/ a team that can put up points fast and not control the ball, which will tire there defense.

Do I see them in the superbowl? No.

You're also forgetting the rest of the division.

SF is swiss cheese... they have a running back... and everything else is a question mark.

Arizona looks like it had a nice offense, then everyone got injured.

The only real competition for the divison (right now, on paper) is Seattle... who I just think Hasselback will choke somehow...

I wouldn't be shocked if Stl didn't win the division, but on paper (and my feelings on Seattle in the "big game") I have to go w/ them till someone knocks them off.

BCWWF 09-06-2004 07:14 PM

I can't see them making the playoffs, but I do think they will still probably end up second in their division. Living outside of St. Louis now I am getting all the St. Louis media and everyday theres something new going wrong for them. Losing Turley was huge, Faulk is real old now, their offence is no longer one of the top in the league and their defense is far from it. They probably won't be totally awful just because they have a few weapons, but they probably will be 9-7 and miss the playoffs. The Seahawks should have that division in the bag.

"should" I just see the Hawks chocking on a few games.

Turley does hurt, but w/ Pace back, RT isn't as important as LT.
Faulk is old, but they've always had a fill-in for when he goes down, this time it's a rookie who someday soon will replace him. They still have the basis of the offense that got them a SB and a Confrence title. They've always tried to build the defense, but they always won on offense.

That being said, if Seattle plays to their full potential, they should take the Division.

Crimson 09-06-2004 10:58 PM

The Patriots should win it again, they'll probably face another surprise team from the NFC like Greenbay, or Minnesota. I don't see Seattle or Philly getting there.

BCWWF 09-06-2004 11:00 PM

The one thing this new playoff system does is limit the teams who can get in there. In the end its probably still going to be the six best teams, but remember when the NFC Central (or something) had four of five teams in? Green Bay, Minnesota, Detroit, Tampa Bay. The good old days

No, the NFC Centreal never had 5 teams in the playoffs :) (1div + 3 wild cards would be the max)

I do remember the AFC East having 4, I think it was the year before they changed the divisions.

What this does allow is a team in a weak division to make the playoffs, sometimes w/ a worse record then a team in another div that didn't make it.

What the hell.

Also, the Lions were fighting the Vikings for the last spot in 99, Vikings got it, so it was 3 north teams, but there were always 3 north teams competing; when the Vikings weren't in the running for a few years there, Chicago was.
