Didn't see enough of Lyger to vote

Mister Sinister 09-14-2004 02:21 AM

Okay, Sorry Revamping this thing for the last time, I'm adding one more Category, which is my biased category of how I like the Wrestler

Wrestling Ability/Workrate: 9.2 (His Matches were great, he is a legend because of this)

Overness: 8.2 (Too make Thing Short, Is a God in Japan, A Legend to Internet Fans and longtime Wrestling Fans, and basically an Unknown to the new wave of Wrestling fans)

Potential: N/A (Since I haven't seen work of him in years, I can't judge him here)

Charisma: N/A (Never heard a Lyger Promo and don't even known if he can speak english)

Finisher/Movelist: 8 (I loved his Running Lyger Bombs, as well as his Shooting Star Presses)

Influence: 9.5 (Lyger may be the man along with Pillman who introduce High Flying Wrestling to American fans and is proberly influenced many of the Cruisers in the world today)

My Opinion: 9.5 (I love Lyger, always have, I looked up to him, besides his so called Attitude and I love his matches...so yeah)

Overall:8.9

9.5 because he deserves more love than this

BigDaddyCool 09-14-2004 02:31 AM

I've never seen Lyger, just heard of him, he's probably is overrated.

mike616 09-14-2004 02:59 AM

Lyger no problem:9.0 he's awesome I grewup wacthing his matches I wolud love too see him vs. AJ Styles.

BigDaddyCool 09-14-2004 03:25 AM

Here is a thought, it is easy for a Lyger to get a very high score, when like 10 people vote in the 9 range, and very hard for a Shawn McMicheals or Ric Flair to get the same score when 50 people vote from 3 to perfect 10. It is like having Joe Schmoe compare a Harley Davison Fatboy to an OCC custom. Sure they are both motorcycles, but the average person would probably only have seen, let alone ridden a Harley. So while both are good, and might even be equally good (just for the example, but they probably aren't), more people can rate the Harley truthfully than the OCC.

So, if you can follow me on that, Ric Flair is a house hold name and is one of the most influencal wrestlers, ever, but some ass clown named A.J. Styles is ranked higher than Flair mostly because less people voted for Styles, and voted high because Styles has yet to have a career as long, and has had less chance to embrace himself like the way Ric has, so the grading is off as well. Ric is being graded on more. I love this idea we have going here, but tthere should be a way to even this out. I don't know, like steal the point system from the olympics, where you start with so many points per wrestler, like starting Ric off at a 10, and the taking points away, instead of coming up with some random point. I don't know, I might just be talking out of my ass.

Discussing big daddy Cool's post

yep

ppl like me have never seen him b4, evidently he is very good, so alot of ppl are going to vote for him (who have seen him) and will vote high.

so i suppose it is a little bias, but no big deal

Well, there is something I'm planning on doing in the future, however it only applies to people like AJ Styles and the lesser known guys, because they aren't that well known, every 2-3 months or so, I will re-evalulate them, and have them up for re-voting, around that time, I will go thru a massive update of downloadable matches, info, full-depth reviews, to get the general public more indepth with the characters, As for Flair, well he won't get, since he has had a longer explosure to the business and had so many more votes, Just because Styles is tied with Flair for now, doesn't mean he is be there when he is put up for re-vote.

Also, People are allowed to change there votes at any time, as long as they give me a notice of doing so, via Privite Message, Posting in a RTW Topic or by IM...since I keep record of how many points, votes, etc each person got so I can easily modifly it if need be, as long as they don't greatly change the number, no more then two full points difference, and if they deceide to do so, please tell me what you voted before and what you're changing your vote to

The Thing is, everyone has there own unique why of how they do there votes, and I think alot of it, has to do with the Present, instead of the past and present, if they being the case, I can see why AJ is ahead of Flair, he currently he more things going for him, He the most over guy in TNA, He got twice the athletic ability of Flair, etc...However, Since Flair is getting towards the end of his road as far as being a Wrestler goes, he will be put back up for re-voting, after he retires, which will have voting based on his whole career, instead of just the present. But Currently, if you even know who AJ is, you would pretty much agree he has more going for him at the moment and is the better wrestler over a past his prime, but still Decent Wrestler, Ric Flair

I love his match with Muta where Muta rips off his mask, and Lyger has on Muta facepaint under his mask, and them mists Muta.
