Good Cage Matches

When's the last time somebody saw a really good cage match in the WWE. They seem to only be on Raw and not PPV. It seems to me like there hasn't been a good cage match in a long long time. Nothing that makes you say "Wow, that was a great match"

Shawn Mega 09-18-2004 01:24 PM

JBL vs.Eddie was really good but not great.

I only seen half of Benoit vs.Angle cage match.

The last cage match I've seen that made me go wow was The Rock vs.Austin match after Mania. PURE ENERGY!!!!!!!!!!!

Dagger Phillips 09-18-2004 01:29 PM

I like the cage matches where the object of the match is to pin the opponent. Those always are better matches than the lame and predictable "escape" cage matches.

Mister Sinister 09-18-2004 03:37 PM

Mankind v. Hunter Hearst Helmsley was good, but that may be for the spots and such.

Of Course Owen v. Bret is proberly the best one without a doubt

Gouda 09-18-2004 03:58 PM

We need old school blue cages back.

Innovator 09-18-2004 04:43 PM

Thing is cage matches are just another gimmick match these days. The cage match was supposed to be brutal, barbaric, and be the end of a feud.

Shawn Mega 09-18-2004 05:34 PM

I totally forgot about TNA cage matches. Both were great because AMW.

Volchok 09-18-2004 05:42 PM

Triple H Vs. Eugene :shifty:

MVP 09-18-2004 06:03 PM

Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart, Summerslam 94. Need I say more?

MVP 09-18-2004 06:04 PM

Yes I do, Sting and Ric Flair vs. Terry Funk and The Great Muta, Halloween Havoc 89.

CosaNostra 09-18-2004 09:56 PM

Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka VS Don " The Magnificent" Muraco

Semetery 09-19-2004 10:12 AM

Hardy Boyz vs. Edge and Christian, Unforgiven 2000.

V 09-19-2004 12:26 PM

they'd be a lot better if they didn't add the rule of escaping through the door

Sephiroth 09-19-2004 12:46 PM

I think a steelcage match with Benoit, Orton, HHH and Y2J for the World Championship could really be fuckin sweet!

I-Hate-You 09-19-2004 01:20 PM

I thought the cage match between Kane and X-Pac at Armageddon 99 was good.

it was X-Pac's last good match before he went to shitsville.

Loose Cannon 09-19-2004 01:22 PM

The late 80's-early 90's Wargames were the shit

He had a lot of awesome matches with Jericho.

That was one of the most disappointing matches I've seen. All four guys were great at that time but the match suck.

Very True. I saw that LIVE at the First Union Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

That was an incredible match, and I remember everyone was confused when Jeff Hardy was knocked off the side of the cage to the floor... we thought the match was over because we weren't informed that both members of the team had to leave the cage. It was a bad ass match and event too.

FakeLaser 09-19-2004 02:56 PM

Bret vs. Owen, Summerslam.

I LOVED Wargames.

Spedizzo 09-19-2004 04:13 PM

The old WWF Cages were cool. Now it looks like HIAC took a shit and out came the cage they use now.

It was rather, mostly because they just left the weapons behind from the street fight before it...

Shaggy 09-20-2004 04:36 PM

at the indy promotion that I go to they had a night of cage matches....they had 5 of them the first was a 4 way match which was pretty good....the worst part is that that was also the best match of the night. The others were the same moves over and over again.

But as for good cage matches I think I would have to go with....Bret Vs Owen. Classic

SuperSlim 09-20-2004 04:57 PM

Bret vs. Owen was good.

for the spots Trips vs. Mankind

Angle vs. Edge form SD! was a pretty good one also

Outlaws vs. Terry Funk and Cactus Jack. When new DX was born... that was awesome.

Same I was there too... AWEOMSE match, especially the ConChairto to knock Edge off the top of the cage and the Hardyz won. That was the best PPV I have ever been too by far.

But I think it was the Cage Match I don't know when, but it was on Raw when Angle did a back flip off the top of the cage and Benoit moved out of the way. That was an awesome match.

Aussie Skier 09-20-2004 09:30 PM

Angle vs Edge, smackdown.
after the hair vs hair match

Ferocious 09-20-2004 09:33 PM

They don't make cage matches like they used to, and It's all because of Alex Steele. (Cheap Pop)

jasonvoorhees 09-20-2004 11:03 PM

One of the best were:
The rock Vs Austin when HHH came and hit The Rock.
The rock Vs Mandkind Vs Ken shemrock Triple threat cage match
and
For me it was the best one,
The Rock Vs HHH

Probably the last great Wargames was when the nWo was just starting up. Think it was nWo (Hogan, Hall, Nash, Fake Sting) vs WCW (Flair, Arn Anderson, Luger and Sting). That was when Crow Sting started up after the WCW team thought that he had attacked them earlier that night or something.

Shawn Mega 09-21-2004 07:49 PM

Have anyone ever seen Issac Yankem(Kane) vs. Bret Hart Cage match on Raw before? I read that somewhere,is the match any good?

Rock vs.Al Snow,remember that one.
