iPods are not Windows 98 compatible. The 1st-3rd generation ones and the Mini versions are compatible with ME and 2000 as well as XP, but the brand new 4th gen ones only work with Windows 2000 SP 4 and XP.

Short answer: no.

Although having just checked, there might be third party software out there that allows it. You can look for that yourself though, I'm not some sort of servant...

iPod fucks you over if you have a PC, you have to buy that special chord so you can use USB instead of FireWire and its like 30 bucks. Thats why I have an Apple ;)
