smark or mark

I would do this as a poll, but alas, I am unaware of how you do it :p

anywayz, just wondering, who out there considers themselves a smark and who considers themselves a mark?

I guess loose definitions:
Mark:
watches wrestling for the wrestling, not to be critical,
cares not about (preferably does not know about) backstage politics,

Smark:
Always looking at ways to improve wrestling,
Discusses what angles and the like should be pursued,
watches wrestling to see how good the product is, rather than watching wrestling to enjoy the show.

I'm a mark, well and truly!

any1 else....

Mister Sinister 09-23-2004 02:18 AM

I'm A Mark...except for the not knowing about the backstage crap...

Funky Fly 09-23-2004 02:20 AM

I am a smark, but I watch wrestling for the wrestling.

Innovator 09-23-2004 02:28 AM

I'm smark, but when I watch a show I watch it for wrestling, like Funky...afterwards I'll bitch about what I hated and everything

KayfabeMan 09-23-2004 02:37 AM

I'm a worker, which means I'm a mark on the inside of the business. :)

Deep down inside, EVERYONE is a mark.

Innovator 09-23-2004 02:38 AM

you become a mark the minute you go to a live event

I watched wrestling for more than 10 years before I went to my first live event. Pretty sure I was a mark before then.

Innovator 09-23-2004 02:43 AM

I mean in the sense that even though you're a smark, you'll be a mark when you go to a live event.

Aussie Skier 09-23-2004 02:51 AM

agree with flunky fly.

i think your a mark b4 you go to a live show.
if anything, ur a smark after going to a live show, cos you may see heels talking to faces and that.

V 09-23-2004 03:10 AM

i'm a mark, always will be, i dont' care about using my own methods of improving the business, if i knw how to do that, i'd be the billionare, not vince, although i will get mad at stupid storylines since it's obviously fake, but i have a right to do that, it's just like saying an episode of the simpsons sucked

LK 09-23-2004 04:18 AM

I think I am a smark but I do watvh wrestling to be entertained.

Volchok 09-23-2004 08:14 AM

As Brian Pillman would say: "Smmmarrtt markkk".. but as Kayfabe man and Funky had said, everyone one is a mark inside.

I am a smark on the outside since now the show is not at its best. But from the time when I started watching as a kid to the current moments with Jericho/ Xtian/ hbk, I am a mark. Even as a smark, you want something good to happen to Mark out like you used to.

And yes, you are a mark before you go to a live show. Why else would you wanna see the show live? You want to feel the energy you felt when you were younger.

Loose Cannon 09-23-2004 11:56 AM

I can be labeled a smark because I have knowledge of what goes on inside the business, but I'm a mark all the way.

Loose Cannon 09-23-2004 12:00 PM

What's a Smart Mark? A Mark with a High IQ.

Evolution 09-23-2004 12:04 PM

I guess I'm a Smark in the same sense as gonMad00. I think the last time I marked out was when I thought HBK won the World Title on RAW, only to find out Triple H had started the pin first.

tucsonspeed6 09-23-2004 06:34 PM

By your deffinition of "mark" I am DEFFINATELY a mark. I may know all about the business, and I can predict with pretty good accuracy what the writers are thinking and what will happen in the story lines, but everyone who knows me around here knows that I can't stand it when people bitch and moan about "oh, wrestling is ruined! I'm never gonna watch it ever again!" When I see a really bad episode of Raw, I say to my friends "Damn, that one sucked." and leave it at that.

Disturbed316 09-23-2004 06:40 PM

Who is this "Mark" person?
