Plans for the Hurricane *spoilers from Raw just gone*

- As many fans witnessed this past Monday on RAW, it appears that The Hurricane is on the brink of making a heel turn.

WWE officials have been trying to work out what exactly they would like to do with The Hurricane once he makes the full fleged turn.

The overwhelming feeling among officials is that it is time for a change for The Hurricane.

It is expected that The Hurricane will go back to being known as either Shane or Gregory Helms, possibily even going back to the "Sugar" Shane Helms gimmick.

Also, with the amount of Hurricane's that have swept through the States recently, some were wondering if "The Hurricane" was an appropriate name to be using at this time.

As of now, there are two idea's for where Helms may end up.

There is talk of throwing him in as the new 4th man in Evolution. With this, Helms will get alot more time on the air and also Evolution would have a cruiserweight in the group.

The other idea for Helms is to have him go to SmackDown! and feud for the cruiserweight championship, which is what he was doing before traded to RAW.

Personally i'd prefer it if he went to Evolution only because he's get buried on smackdown

Xero 09-23-2004 11:50 AM

I dunno how well he'd fit in with Evolution, but I wouldnt mind seeing it, it could work out perfectly...

Evolution 09-23-2004 12:00 PM

I'm trying hard not to imagine him as The Hurricane or Reporter Gregory Helms, but if they do this right he would be a great addition to Evolution, maybe having a short-lived feud with Rosey before going on to bigger and better things.

HankScorpio 09-23-2004 12:23 PM

Go Helms! I think he COULD fit in perfectley in Evolution, but, we'll have to wait and see. I'm sure they won't do anything with him anyway. He'll just get released.

Evolution 09-23-2004 01:10 PM

Don't give them ideas gunn!

Kapoutman 09-23-2004 01:13 PM

Sugar Shane Helms in a Tux would have the exact image needed to be a part of Evolution. I can imagine him being an arrogant asshole. That would be good.

Drakul 09-23-2004 01:20 PM

shanehelms.com just got a new look so I doubt he'll stop being hurricane for a while.

Gouda 09-23-2004 02:05 PM

Personally I think Shane/Gregory (most likely Gregory) would make a great fit in Evoltuion. The man looks good in a suit.

Shaggy 09-23-2004 02:26 PM

I think he should stay on Raw and go to Evolution. I think hes great in the ring and I dont really get to watch Smackdown all the time so I would miss him. Then again this was the first time ive seen him in a few months. But still...Evolution would be good for him.

Mister Sinister 09-23-2004 02:51 PM

Honestly, I don't care what he does...as long as he gt's huge push...But Shane/Gregory (I have a feeling, they will call him that) would fit in good with Evoultion in my mind, he just gotta lose the Green Hair :(

SuperSlim 09-23-2004 02:54 PM

only if he hadhis hair a regular color could he fit in Evolution. I personally wouldn't mind him bein the cruiserweight of the group. It would add more depth to teh group. Cover every division. soon they would need a female.

Innovator 09-23-2004 03:02 PM

He goes heel, the hair is gone too

Yeah, because a wrestler updating his site has a lot to do with what the creative team decides he's going to do.

Sugar Shane Helms = Ratings

Corkscrewed 09-23-2004 06:23 PM

SmackDOWN! SmackDOWN!

Imagine a Helms/London feud. :D

And in fact, he could team up with Kidman, who they're apparently determined to turn heel, to attack Paul. Rey could help out. Rey/London vs Kidman/Helms would be a pretty cool match!

Loose Cannon 09-23-2004 06:28 PM

Cruseirweight Division Blows. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Evolution Is the Solution.

BigDaddyCool 09-23-2004 06:42 PM

He needs to get into Evolution as Sugar Shane Helms....maybe he'll get to use the vertibraker....

Mister Sinister 09-23-2004 06:46 PM

Doubtful....Of course, there's nothing wrong with the Eye Of The Hurricane....Hell I wouldn't mind if he bought back The Shining Wizard

Gerard 09-23-2004 06:59 PM

Hurricane in evolution, so he goes from someone noone really gives a shit about to being associated with the biggest (and only) wwe heel stable. Meh worked for orton i suppose. :foc:

Thriller 09-23-2004 10:57 PM

I personally think that Hurricane should go to Smackdown instead of Evoultion.Sure he would fit in well but he would not be seen as a threat no matter how you book him.The majority of the Raw roster is twice his size and i believe he is the smallest man on that brand.WWE is obviosly tring to revive the cruiserweight division. With Spike as a strong champion,a Kidman/London fued and when he retuns a Chavo/Kidman fued things would diffenatlly give even more progress to the slowly becoming crediable title picture should Hurricane get traded.

Transplant 09-23-2004 11:37 PM

THREE COUNT, BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Danny Electric 09-24-2004 12:30 AM

Team him up with Shannon Moore and bring back Evan Karagias. :D

Gertner 09-24-2004 12:39 AM

like i've said, if they are gonna make them a comedic team, turn them heel and have them do a professor chaos, general disarray gimmick where they are hellbent on destroying the WWE, but there plans are stupid.

Sensei Of Mattitude 09-24-2004 01:02 AM

EVOLUTION IS SHANE'S SOLUTION

Corkscrewed 09-24-2004 01:38 AM

Three Count could work... they'd be face tho.

Sting Fan 09-24-2004 06:26 AM

I would love to see him in Evolution I think he is just big enough that if he bulked up just a little he could be a threat.

Also I havent seen Raw yet but why is everyone speculating a Hurricane Heel turn?

Cause he turned heel, that is why. He lost his match to Tajiri, and then gets all pissed and snatchs the mask off a little kid that he gave to that kid before the match.

Loose Cannon 09-24-2004 01:04 PM

Well he didn't turn yet, but he will. He'll turn on Rosey, then probably cost someone a match the fans actually care about.

Sting Fan 09-24-2004 08:00 PM

Oh ok like I said I havent seen Raw yet but I figure that is a definate sign thanks BDC.

jindrak 09-25-2004 01:15 AM

It was nice to see Hurricane employ an old-school heel tactic i.e taking away that kid's mask in the front row. Obviously that signals a heel turn, and that is what Helms needs (anything to change from a stale gimmick).

Personally, I would LOVE to see the return on "Sugar" Shane Helms, but I doubt that WCW gimmick will be brought back.

IMO, send Helms to Smackdown! where he can add another dimension to the steadily improving cruiserweight division. He could be easily be added into the mix as a heel, and possibly join Angle's suppossed stable.

Gouda 09-25-2004 02:23 AM

I don't see Helms going to Smackdown.

Hmmm... has anyone ever actually gone from one show to the other and then back again?

Excluding The Rock.

Benoit from Smackdown to Raw back to Smackdown back to Raw.

Mister Sinister 09-25-2004 02:39 AM

If You wanna get technical by Storyline Purposes...Triple H did as well, going from Smackdown to Raw To Smackdown and Back to Raw again, of course, that was only due to the drawing

Mr. Nerfect 09-25-2004 04:33 AM

Here are some directions I can see Helms heading in now. Be careful, some of these are really, REALLY lame:

1. The Hurricane
A heel version of the current character. RAW's local supervillain. This character could also work on SmackDown!. Maybe The Hurricane could appear on RAW as a supervillain, and on SmackDown! as "Sugar" Shane Helms (or vice versa)?

2. "Sugar" Shane Helms
Either by himself or with Evolution. He would basically come out with women and just appear like he thinks he's better than everyone else. I could see an interesting feud with Val Venis develope.

3. Shane Helms & Simon Dean (or Mike Bucci)
Two guys who are sick and tired of pretending they are people they are not. They've been superhereos, supervillians, boy band members and the like, but now they just want to be themselves.

4. "008" Agent Helms
I don't know why, but I can see Helms becomming a "secret agent" once he's over with the whole superhero thing. :-\

Sting Fan 09-25-2004 06:30 AM

Sugar Shane and Stephan Ricardo for tag team gold.

Anyone who read my idea for Steven Richards ages ago will get what I am talking about. I might find a link later.

Mr. Nerfect 09-25-2004 08:28 AM

Isn't that the one where Shane Helms teaches Steven Richards how to win back Victoria? That would make a great storyline. :y:

Dark Kane 09-25-2004 10:40 AM

I would love to see a villian Hurricane, that would rock. But if they are going to turn Hurricane heel, then Hurricane would need a different costume, a much darker costume. That green outfit wouldn't fit his heel character if he's going to be a heel soon.

Mr. Nerfect 09-25-2004 08:33 PM

I agree, I'm thinking either a really, really dark green, a dark blue, black or red. Probably two of those colours. I'm in favour of black & red.

Sting Fan 09-25-2004 08:43 PM

Yeah Alienoid basicaly it was a transformation of Richards to a real Suave guy who gets the ladies but wants Victoria.

My idea was for him to get help from a few wrestlers but if Helms has the mic skills it could just be him that helps Ricahrds. And it could work for heelish intentions like Helms manipulating Richards or something.

The CyNick 09-25-2004 10:48 PM

It really depends on how the WWE sees him. If they actually want to push him as a top tier talent then there's no better place to go but Evolution. We all know Evo will always run the show as long as Hunter wants the group around. Plus this would play off nicely with the angle they shot back a few weeks/months(?) with Flair. And with his Carolinas connection he'd fit in with Hunter as another Flair/Horseman/NWA mark.

On the other hand if he turns heel, and then jumps to SD he wouldn't reach the top of the card by any means, but at least he would be consistantly in the mix. The CW division may not be the greatest, but it is a regualr part of SD, and with his talents he'd be in the title mix a fair amount of the time. That means he'd get to be on TV every week and PPV fairly regularly.

The worst thing for him is that they'll turn him heel, he'll beat Rosey in a terrible match, and then reach the heights of fueding with Maven. That means he'll lose the gimmick that keeps him on the roster (its good opening card stuff) in exchange for a 2 week push. If that happens he'll just get lost in the shuffle on RAW (too small to go for the IC title, too much penis for the Womens title) and he'll be a regular with Steven Richards on Heat.
