7. He has 2 great books. I respect him. But all he ever did was sick bump. His championship runs weren't that great, and he is possibly the luckiest wrestler of all time. But I refuse to put him higher than 7, but that isn't because I don't respect him.

7. I respect the man, and he entertains me endlessly, but for a guy that doesn't really wrestle (which seems to be why guys like JBL and Hardcore Holly get lower scores), all he's really got to get a pretty good score is his legacy and ability to draw interest into what he's doing.

Aussie Skier 09-27-2004 01:56 AM

This is just by judging the rankings of the leaderboard. I can't, in my hardest of hearts, rank Foley above Ricky Steamboat, or any of the other higher ranked workers for that matter. However, I will give him a better ranking that Jushin Lyger and yes, even Ric Flair.

Truly a unique individual and unique character. While it seems that gimmicks recycle in the WWE every few years, nobody will ever truly replicate the Mick Foley character. (I know they've tried duplicate Dude Loves & Mankinds before, but those pale in comparison with the real deal. Sorry, Dennis Knight.) Also, a classy guy who has no problem putting people over, even as recently as making a superstar out of Randy Orton.

And his promos rank among the highest of all WWE promos. "This is Your Life, Rock" and his visit to Vince's hospital bed especially. And what other main eventer could successfully make a catchprase out of "Have a nice day"?

He's entertaining as all hell but he's not my style of wrestling... No great style or anything. Flair was right, he's a just a glorified stuntman.

8. This is the only guy I can think of that I'd rate this highly without being a genius in the ring, but this guy is a legend and a class act.

blueskies 09-27-2004 04:28 AM

A legend he may be.. but a wrestler? I give him a 7

Work rate: 10

By the way, in one of his columns, Bret Hart said that the current wrestler he would like to wrestle the most if he had the opportunity was Kurt Angle. How fitting.

Great dedication to the business and a great guy. Like some have said he was a bit of a spot machine but his match wiuth HBK at Mind Games showed he could wrerstle a bit.

Cruiserweight 3:16 09-27-2004 07:13 AM

I queue-jumped a book signing and saw him in 20 mins in Leeds. The guy may not be a great technical specialist, but he knew how to work a match successfully.

I'd give

Cactus Jack: 10
Mankind:8
Dude Love:7
Mick Foley: 8.5

overall: 8.375

The Cactus Jack character was one of the best and most hardcore out there. fav. match... so many but the one that comes to mind is Cactus vs. HHH, falls count anywhere... feelin the fans there.

Mankind started off good. I liked the dark Mankind. When he became nothin more than a comedy act it sorta sucked still seein him bein as tough as nails. Didn't make too much sense to me. HIAC

Dude Love was never a favorite of mine to begin with. vs. Austin for the title.

Mick Foley: The man behind it all. Wrestlin under himself was good but back in the day as Cactus Jack he was better. crap can't think of one.
