I give Matt Borne a 8.5 for his working ability and characters during WCW and such. I give him a 9 for his portrayal of Doink, and really sticking with it to make it work. Also, Borne Again was classic.

Also, props to him for cleaning up his life and taking care of his kids and such.

Matt Borne as Doink the Clown was grade A quality shit. He played the character about as perfectly as you can play an evil clown. Borne was the man and knew psycology.

I can't believe DOINK (literally a fucking CLOWN) is, so far, receiving a higher score than, for example Ric Flair, Raven, Ultimo Dragon, British Bulldog, Kane, Jushin Lyger, or Christian.

Please believe, Doink was the shit back in the WWF Superstars days. His psychology was perfect in and out of the ring. If all the wrestlers in WWE had half his hold over the crowd, 5 star matches would be an everyday thing.

Borne's Doink (What I call "The Real Doink") was my first favorite character. The inring was well over par and just the showmanship of the character itself was amazing. It's sad that three other people had to ruin a great thing.

From what I understand, WWE contacted Borne about the Gimmick Battle Royal, but for whatever reason, Borne didn't do it last minute, and that was Nick Dinsmore. The Barroom Brawl was Also Nick, but Doink's next appeance, when Rhyno sent him out to fight Benoit, was Rob Conway.

(Too much abuse of a good character... :nono: )

I swear, the only reason I ever put in WM 9 is for the Doink Interview and the match. Good stuff. Doink looked like such a coakhead clown that takes a job at traveling carnivals back then.

Evil Doink was brilliant. I give Borne a 7 for his portrayal of the character.

Straight 9 from me for my favourite gimmick ever.

Wrestling wise, it's like comparing Shelton Benjamin or Charlie Hass to Bret Hart or Kurt Angle. WGTT are good, but it doesn't get better than Bret or Kurt. Ultimo is a better wrestler, but Doink was way more over in his time. It's really not Ultimo's fault because he gets pretty good reactions when he's on Smackdown, but he's been getting shit booking.

A 9 from me, when I was younger I was enthralled by him.

8.5! He was a fun character and had green hair. That was good enough for me when I was a kid.
