"Owner"

Yeah, there's this folder that keeps popping up labeled "Owner". It's got the majority of my programs on it, and it seems to be linked to the Documents and Settings Folder.

The thing is, whenever I close, minimize, or even shrink it, it just pops itself back up. So every 5 seconds, I'm having to close the damn window only for it to pop right back up again, making Internet browsing and even posting way too difficult.

I'm on XP, BTW.

Anyone know how to stop this?

Is it an HP computer?

Yes.

HP makes the default user name Owner, that is why it has the programs, documents, etc in it. The same thing on my computer would be the "Andrew" folder, etc. However, that doesn't do anything to explain why it keeps popping up

I guess the first place to start on this one is to ask if you have a good antivirus program (not norton) and if you've run Ad-Aware and/or Spybot Search and Destroy

Ad-Aware: www.lavasoftusa.com

NOD32 (best antivirus): www.eset.com

The problem seems to have stopped for me. I'm guessing it was just a one-off thing.

But yes, I will run Ad-Aware.

Norton has a huge hole that allows certain viruses to disable it. They've known about it for a long time and haven't fixed it.
