Anybody ever added their own soundtrack to a ps2 game?
I used to see people talking about doing this on the gamefaqs boards for Smackdown HCTP. It involves copying the game to your computer, changing the files, then burning it back to a dvd disc.
I'm trying to find out what tools I need/how to do this because the soundtrack in THUG2 is horrible and I'm hoping to be able to change the songs. |
I don't see how that would work...
There have to be links between the gameplay files and the music files so the game knows when to play certain music sections and when. Rewriting all of that sounds reasonable in simple games way back when, but doing that with a modern game seems impossible. |

Sounds reasonable. |
Yeah, nothing too awful difficult; that said it's not something I've done.

This tool allows you to play, convert, and downsample audio files that use some of the more common formats among PS2 games. It can be used to reduce the size of music in DVD rips, replace the music with something else you prefer, or simply play the music from your favorite games. |
Thanks dan26, I'll have to give it a shot tonight when I get home from work.
edit: Actually that link seems to take me to playstation.com? |
