I would think so. The reason the Twins lost was because we couldn't match the offensive production. We had plenty of hits but we had trouble driving them in. The Red Sox won't have that problem and they have a 1/2 pitching combo as good if not better than the Twins. It really is theres to lose now.

Fact, then they'll lose the world series to the Cardinals :love:

Anyway, yeah... on paper the Sox should win... but they should have last year also.

If Pedro is back like the last game, the Sox have the pitching, which is how the Yanks have always won... it wasn't the big hitting they had, it was Clemens, Pettite, Wells, Mussina and the list goes on.

The sox have the SP and the Pen... the closer nod still goes to NYY, but the sox have pretty good luck against him.

As for a WS, nah cheebs, won't be the Cards... will be Clemens winning 3 of the 4 games and 2 of them in Fenway :).

game 7, Bagwell hits a HR in the 9th for a 1 run lead (AL is home) and then 2 outs, tieing run on 1st... Ortiz is left in the game, and Trot gets a base hit to shallow right and Ortiz gets waved home and is dead at the plate.

and that means a lot... like it's been stated before, I think they only met twice, because before the WC they never could have met... so oh yeah... 0-2... that makes a difference in a different year w/ different players.

It's simple, the Yanks always won w/ pitching, and defense, the hitting came 2nd. The sox always had hitting and defense and pitching came 2nd.

This years the roles are reversed.

If the Yanks still have Pettitte and Clemens, then it's a different story.

Technically the Red Sox should be a lot better right now, but its the ALCS and its obviously going to be pretty close and not exactly what its like on paper.
