I Heart Huckabees

I am curious about seeing this movie, but like anything aside from blockbusters won't get shown in my theater. So, has anyone seen this movie? I'm interested in hearing your input on the movie.

Lara Emily 10-16-2004 12:42 AM

I want to see it too but I don't even think it's coming here either :(

DegenerationY 10-16-2004 03:01 AM

It's playing all over the place here, but I have no idea what it's about

loopydate 10-16-2004 04:10 PM

I'm with you, CoE and Lara. Stupid uncultured Midland. We'll get "Raise Your Voice," but we won't get "I Heart Huckabees." We'll get "The Cookout" but not "Garden State."

Lara Emily 10-16-2004 09:42 PM

Ottawa got Garden State, heck we got Napolean Dynamite but we didn't get I Heart Huckabees.

The weirdest thing is my theatre had buttons, a huge standee (big giant 3d poster) and the trailer for it and not only did it not come to my theatre it didn't come to my city.

Well I take that back, I went to my work today to go see a movie and low and behold it was playing. It's fantastic, fucked up weird and absolutely hillarious. The acting from everyone especially Mark Wahlberg, he was hillarious. God I love this movie.

Blue Demon 10-25-2004 10:45 AM

I'm curious to see thos as well, it is playing here and wondering if it is worth it.

Blue Demon 10-26-2004 12:11 AM

I saw it and thought it was pretty good.

The Icon of Elisim 10-26-2004 08:57 PM

Just got back, I really liked it.

Just a quirky weird funny movie. Definetly worth a see

Lara Emily 10-27-2004 03:07 AM

Saw it again today. Gets better with each viewing, so much to make note of.

Bump

For anyone that hasn't seen this yet, get it. It's a philoshopical comedy about this guy who goes into some sort of "clinic" where they follow him around to assess his problems.

I saw it for the first time last night, as it's a new release now and it's an awesome movie. It's very philosophical and funny, it seems like the type of movie I'd make. I can see how it'd be a movie you'd want to watch again and again... not because it's confusing but since it just set's a mood.

Some parts of it dragged on but for the most part it was entertaining.

8.3/10 - I hardly rate movies over an 8 but this deserved it.

"I'm at the fire, man. Where are you at?"

*bump*

Saw this for the first time last night. Pure brilliance. The script was very interesting and in theory it was a clever film but the performances of the main actors made it brilliant. Hoffman is hilarious as always in those roles and Wahlberg steals the show. Fantastic starring and supporting cast, even Jude Law was alright.

Very hard to fault this film. Will watch it again soon.

Avenger 05-22-2007 11:11 AM

Oh yeah and it definately sets a mood and uplifts you.

Agreed, remember I downloaded it when it came out and watched it like once a day for a week. The dinner table scene was hilarious with Wahlberg too, overall entertaining flick.

Avenger 05-22-2007 02:17 PM

lol.The pairing of the two "others" for that middle period in the film was amazing.

"Have you ever transcended time and space?"

"Yes....no....time, but not space.....actually, I have no idea what you're talking about"

Anybody Thrilla 05-29-2007 04:44 PM

She said Fuckabees!

Good News Gertie 05-29-2007 11:35 PM

good existentialist movie

Shisen Kopf 05-30-2007 12:06 AM

I dunno, I thought it was ok, kinda boring. Reminded me too much of a Charlie Kaufman piece only not nearly as good.

plus, if you watch it with the commentary on... :y:

Mr. Nerfect 05-30-2007 07:43 PM

It's a great movie. I love the way it's this crazy, philosophical movie, yet its comedy exists on a basic level. Plus, Naomi Watts is hot. The whole cast is fantastic in this.
