What annoys you in sports?

*-*EDIT*-*
I didn't want this to become another Patriots thread since it was never about the Patriots in the first place. So I changed the title of the topic.

Well not so much the team. It's just that after every single play they play the introduction to "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns n' Roses. They played it like 4 times in one minute. It gets annoying.

What else do you find annoying in sports right now?

John la Rock 10-17-2004 05:30 PM

lol fuck cry me a river

anyways I can't stand that at every Yankee game they always focus on Derek Jeter. If he's not at bat they show him celebrating. Common

BCWWF 10-17-2004 05:40 PM

I'm annoyed with people like myself who are optimistic and try to find reason why the Red Sox have the edge in the series just to have the Yankee's come in and piss on their home plate. It really was obvious, but we were all trying to find reasons why the Red Sox had it this year. Ugh, typical.

huh?

John la Rock 10-17-2004 06:21 PM

example:

Hideki Matsui hits a home run, they'll not only show Matsui running the bases but they will also show Jeter clapping his hands or pumping his fist in the air.

hope that helps

Jesus Shuttlesworth 10-17-2004 06:24 PM

That guy who says Yankees win after they win, He like studders when he says it

Also Patriots > Anything ever created

Exactly. The point of this thread is to complain about things that annoy you in sports.

Also, that little AOL guy is EVERYWHERE. Like last night, they'd show the stats of Johnny Damon except instead of "MLB ON FOX" flasing accross the screen it would be the AOL guy swinging a bat or throwing a pitch. Also, during the Falcons game, there was a digital ad for AOL for broadband on the bottom of the feild with the AOL guy. I laughed when I saw that one. It took up like the whole entire bottom portion of the field.

BCWWF 10-17-2004 07:14 PM

Like I said in the beginning of the season, when the Seahawks were picked as the team to win the Superbowl by a bunch of "experts" with not any recent major success. When you put those kind of expectations on an unproven team they are bound to choke a little bit. I think the Eagles are pretty much the NFC champs this year unless something changes.

BCWWF 10-17-2004 07:15 PM

What annoys me is when there is no news and ESPN just has a bunch of guys on speculating shit. Like the NBA offseason was awful for that.

RoXer 10-17-2004 07:15 PM

And you're annoyed by that?

RoXer 10-17-2004 07:16 PM

Oh. Got it.

RoXer 10-18-2004 12:37 AM

Another thing, professional singers missing like 5 words to our National Anthem or God Bless America. Fucking annoying.

BabyHugger 10-18-2004 03:20 AM

It annoys me how arrogant yankee fans are, and they basically are buying a World Series. They talk about how the Yankees always step up int he poistseason and have spirit, but how can you attribute a store bought team the same attributews of the former yankee teams of the past. Know what I'm saying, is it like a magic aura or something.

loopydate 10-18-2004 04:54 PM

It annoys me that they no longer play "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" during the 7th-Inning Stretch, instead playing "God Bless America." It was cool during the 2001 postseason, 'cause baseball became like a celebration of the American spirit. Now, it's just sort of annoying. Especially since such a large percentage of the players aren't even American to begin with.

RoXer 10-18-2004 08:02 PM

I don't like how CBS has to have their eye logo thing everywhere. It was in 5 different places on the screen at one point.

MVP 10-18-2004 08:54 PM

The fact that there's no NHL this year.

slextremely 10-18-2004 08:56 PM

The BCS.... GET RID OF IT!!!

OssMan 10-18-2004 09:03 PM

do they play the American national anthem in Canada during the 7th inning stretch?

Jesus Shuttlesworth 10-18-2004 09:14 PM

They don't play the American National Anthem anywhere during the 7th inning

Savio 10-18-2004 09:25 PM

THe XFL still hasn't started its second season.

BCWWF 10-18-2004 09:33 PM

I'm not going to lie, I am missing the NHL

asphyXy 10-18-2004 09:59 PM

NHL :wavesad:

Mike the Metal Ed 10-18-2004 10:17 PM

No NHL
The ridiculous wages in sport
Playing music after a goal is scored at football matches
Gestapo stewards
Big stadiums
Andy Gray

BCWWF 10-18-2004 11:34 PM

Big stadiums are the shit guy

Innovator 10-19-2004 12:03 AM

Umps calling the same pitch in the same location ball or strike, depends on their mood.

ralphwiggum 10-19-2004 12:39 AM

How your team can beat all these other teams (a lot of them being ranked teams) and fucking lose to a non-ranked sucky ass Notre Dame team and now they won't get in the national championship game. They should be ranked like 4 right now but noooooooo they had to lose to suck ass Notre Dame.

BCWWF 10-19-2004 01:27 AM

Who, Michigan? They should have lost to Minnesota too. They aren't top four material this year.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 10-19-2004 01:29 AM

Minnesota lost to Michigan State............who lost to Rutgers

BCWWF 10-19-2004 01:30 AM

Minnesota is a choke, nobody is denying that. Michigan got damn lucky to come away with the win over Minnesota. They lost to Notre Dame. They aren't BCS material.

Champion of Europa 10-19-2004 01:50 AM

The Yankees.

That's it.

Innovator 10-19-2004 01:51 AM

Johnny Damon

Not individual Sox fans, but the Red Sox Nation

ralphwiggum 10-19-2004 12:08 PM

Doesn't matter if they won by luck or not, the only thing that matters is winning week in and week out. Take away that Notre Dame loss and they are top 4 as we speak. But ah well.

LK 10-19-2004 02:04 PM

Teh way that Rangers FC and Celtic FC get away with murder every week in the SPL.

Gertner 10-19-2004 02:20 PM

If you don't deserve to win a game but do because of a fluke, you get credit in your record, but when the system is based on how good your team is, not your record, you get what you deserve.

I like listening to Jim Rome, but he really is a dumbass. He plays devils advocate on everything, and when there are two positions he finds a way to disagree with both. I like his voice though.

road doggy dogg 10-19-2004 03:39 PM

Fans that will nitpick and find anything to bitch and whine about, no matter how petty and insignificant it actually is.

Word.

The Highlander 10-20-2004 03:51 AM

George Steinbrenner, the Triple H of baseball. I am sick of seeing the Yankoffs on top year after year after year and buying championship after championship after championship. I'd like to see how "great" the Yankoffs would be with a salary cap.

The Baltimore Ravens. All talk, no walk.

Patriots winning two fluke last-second Super Bowls.

Barry Bonds.

The Los Angeles Clippers. Why the hell do they exist? The should get new owners, a new name, new coach, new players, and move to Pittsburgh.

The Los Angeles Lakers.

Shaq's fat ass fouling everbody and not getting called.

The WNBA can rarely be found on TV. Shut up, I love the WNBA.

No XFL. Bad or not, it was football in the off-season.

The Baltimre Ravens. Had to say it twice.

Bud Selig. The Stephanie McMahon to George Steinbrenner's Triple H.

Art Modell actually being considered for the HOF. What are they, fucking stupid?!

Canadians singing our national anthem before games. I have nothing against Canada or Canadians ...except Quebec... but it's our National Anthem, find a damn American singer.

People who refer to soccer or Rugby as "Football"

Jesus Christ, is this all you people can say about the Yankees? Get over it. Not the Yanks fault that thier owner spends his money. Let me let you on a little secret. Most owners in the MLB have just as much money as Stein, it's just that they don't spend the money. This is just a ridiculous argument.

And yes the Series is getting to me right now.
