Best Match Ever...

Name it. I don't want top 5, I don't care about your reasons. I just want to see one sentance saying what the best match ever was to you. Look how easy it is...

American Dragon vs. Low Ki vs. Christopher Daniels - Ring of Honor - February 23, 2002

moshingfreak 01-03-2004 02:25 AM

TLC 2

Nowhere Man 01-03-2004 03:14 AM

Benoit/Angle at the Rumble- Incredible technical wrestling, awesome storytelling, and the wrestlers' parts played to absolute perfection, all adding up to the best match I've ever seen.

Sting Fan 01-03-2004 03:24 AM

Keeping in mind i was a mark until about 2 years ago and my recent viewing of wrestling has been minimal i would say Low Ki vs Jerry Lynn vs AJ Stlyes Ladder match for the X Division title.

Vastardikai 01-03-2004 03:45 AM

Bret "Hitman" Hart vs. Mr. Perfect Summerslam '91

BasicThuganomics 01-03-2004 04:32 AM

Stone Cold vs HHH 3 Stages of Hell.

It's my personal favorite, but probably not the best ever...

Imagi-Nation 01-03-2004 05:57 AM

either the No Mercy 99 Ladder match between The Hardyz and Edge & Christian, or TLC 2

The Duck 01-03-2004 08:51 AM

Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle (c) at Royal Rumble 2003.

Well you still are a mark and for as long as you watch wrestling you always will be so I don't really see what that's got to do with it.

It changes for me every once and a while, but right now my favorite is Ric Flair vs. Terry Funk in the "I Quit" match.

Lamuella 01-03-2004 03:14 PM

David Arquette versus Jeff Jarrett versus DDP. Slamboree 2000. Best match ever.

I have so many favorite matches that it is hard to narrow it down to one. The first match that come to my mind was Bret Hart vs Owen Hart Wrestlemania 10.

I see what you did there. Being all sarcastic. Using something that's not POSSIBLY over cliched and constantly brought up as a horrible booking decision and bad match all together. Good job.

The CyNick 01-03-2004 11:10 PM

I have a tough time choosing between Austin vs Rock from the Astrodome and Bulldog vs Bret form Wembley.

Ding ding ding.

Seeing it live didn't hurt either.

EazyMack 01-04-2004 01:09 AM

At the moment I'd say the Flair/Funk "I Quit" match.

No fooling you is there? ;)

Um.... currently, I feel like Undertaker vs Mankind (HIAC) at King of the Ring (I think). I forget the year, but ya know. It was THE match, basically.

I got a tape to see it, because I heard it was awesome. I had been a Hart Foundation fan for a while, and I marked like hell when I saw Bret go singles. I was starting to get sick of the Hogan's and the like. (I lived in South Carolina at the end of the Mid Atlantic Era, and I was a WWF fan. :nono: ) Talk about being blown away. The Jailhouse Match, the Chicago Street Fight, the Match Made in Hell, EVERYTHING seemed almost anti-climatic.

I picked that match because it was the one that started to bring me out of the Sports Entertainment Funk and I was well on my way into being a Hardcore Wrestling Fan proper. After ECW showed Highlights of Dean Malenko/Eddy Guerrero match, it was all over.

Sting Fan 01-04-2004 04:10 AM

What i was meaning Ricky was that up until about 2 years ago if i saw say Hart vs Perfect like many have said was theire favourite match i would never have understood what they meant because i never understood psicology or how a good match looks but now i can appreciate it a little more plus i must add i am still a huge fan of a good old spotfest.

Great Choice

I like the Flair/Steamboat,2/3 falls match, from the Clash more.

Longer match, better storytelling

I have always been a mark for 2/3 fall matchs though.

I wear your counter-sarcasm with the pride it deserves.

at least I didn't say it was Mideon/Viscera

I liked the 2/3 falls too, but I dunno, Wrestlewar was freakin intense. That one at Chi Town Rumble was frickin great as well.

I haven't seen that many matches (never watched a PPV, and I've only been a big fan since about 2001) so I would have to say TLC III (the fatal four way one with Benoit and Jericho).

Cactus Sid 01-04-2004 04:21 PM

I can't distinguish between these 2 matches for different reasons

American Dragon vs. Low Ki vs. Christopher Daniels - Ring of Honor - February 23, 2002.... AMAZING

and Cactus Jack vs. Triple H - New York Street Fight - Royal Rumble 2000 purely for emotion, work rate and just generally brilliant match.
