I'ld be a happy camper if you spelled my name right. It is BigDaddyCool, no spaces.

Anyhow, Macho Man gets a 9.5 from me. I can't explain why I like him, or why he deserves a 9.5, he just does.

Oh, and I want to nominate King Mable/Visera for the next poll.

Evil Vito 10-18-2004 01:51 AM

BTW, I keep trying to get crappy wrestlers here, just so we can have more lower scores for a while, no more of these 7s, 8s, and 9s for a while, we need some more crap like X-Pac, and Buff Bagwell, and Visera to remind us why Owen, Austin, Angle, Rock, and Bret are so high up.

I agree, we're rating guys who we all love. I htink it will be interesting to see the scores of let's say Funaki compared to Bret Hart. BTW, I nominate Funaki for the next poll.

El Santo 10-18-2004 02:32 AM

9.0 - Snap into a Slim Jim! Ohhh, yeah!

Same as Ricky Steamboat, by the way, which is incredibly apt, as their match in Wrestlemania III is quite possibly the most memorable match in wrestling. Ever. He has one of the most recognizable voices in wrestling, involved in some of wrestling's biggest angles, and had the good sense to have classy gals like Elizabeth and Sensational Sherri accompany him to the ring.

BigDaddyCool 10-18-2004 02:36 AM

BTW, if anyone was wondering, I did wiegh in the rap cd he made, and it helped him. OOOOOOOOO Yeah.

And the fact he is space ghost's grandpa or something.

damn, oh well, i missed regal's vote, prolly would have given him about an 8

onto macho man:
In ring: 8.5 (great 4 his time)
Charisma/mic: 10
Look: 7 - always found him sorta scary with the beard, reminded me of a think Earthquake (get well soon quake btw)
Entrance/music: 9
Finisher: 9 - apparently it was revolutionary 4 its time
Overness: 9.5

i never really like randy savage, so i am surprised that he's got an 8.8 from me

Funky Fly 10-18-2004 05:22 AM

Ring ability: 8.5
Overness: 10
Work rate: 10
Politics: 10

He gets a 7 from me, I know he's a legend, but there's something about him that always put me off about him. Can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's becasue he had a beard

SuperSlim 10-18-2004 09:36 AM

I would like to nominate Rico for the next poll

Actually i want Rico not in tomorrows poll but in 2 days time.

For a laugh i want Giant Gonzales in tomorrows poll  Look out Hardcore you last place is at risk :p

GODSON 10-18-2004 10:09 AM

10, he carry Hulk Hogan to a four stars match. He carry Warrior to two **** matches. The guy had great charisma and cut the best promos. He own Mania with matches against Hogan,Warrior,Steamboat,Flair. Remember when he won the tournament at Mania, longest Mania ever. His fued with Hogan and Flair produce the best storylines in wrestling history. Flair vs.Savage for Elizabeth was both a WWF and WCW fued. He was the coolest NWO member. The flying elbow is still one of the greatest moves when he did it.

Jericho kinda reminds me of Macho Man with his charisma but Jericho skill inside the ring can't touch Savage.

6 - He just had no skill back in the day. He is another Hogan -- a person with a good personality and a good gimmick, but no actual in-ring skill. He's even missing Hogan's ring presence and storytelling ability.

The only good thing is his finisher is at least an elbow off the top, which will always be better than a standing leg-drop.

ok, why is there always one jackass in these threads. Seriously, there is always one. I swear it's just to be a troll. I bet you never even seen a Savage match from the 80's and early 90's.

He could do it all. He was an amazing mat wrestler, "aerial technician" (starting to sound like Gorilla Monsoon here...), and brawler. Plus, he cut dynamite promos and was involved in some of my all-time favorite storylines. Heck, he even managed to work a Wrestlemania program out of an issue of WWF Magazine!

The only reason he's not a perfect "10" from me is that he held on a little too long. I have no doubts that he could still wrestle circles around Hulk Hogan or (an admittedly injured) Roddy Piper, but Savage got himself too caught up in his whole shoot/work feud with Hogan, and that is a .2 deduction by Olympic rules.
