PS2 Network Adaptor Help!!!
 

So I just got one, and now I am trying to register it or whatever, but I don't know what kind of system I have or whatnot, and everything I try doesn't work.

I am on a college server, what do I do?

Call Student Tech Support on campus or whatever. Register your MAC Address with them. You can find your MAC by using the network CD and failing to connect and then going into the settings. That should do the trick.

I do not have an ISP
I have an ISP
Local Area Network (LAN)

I have no idea what an ISP is...I know that I am connected through the schools network, what would that be?

Umm yeah I need to find the MAC as well, but the problem i sI don't have the network start up disc as when my brother bought his used PS2 he gave me the adapter. I know there is a way to find it out using SOCOOM as well I believe but as of right now only games I have that go online is T.H.U.G. and The second Sims game that came out.

To answer what a MAC is, it is a specific number that goes with your Adapter.

Do I need this MAC at some point?

Really what would get me started is to know what an ISP is and to know whether I have one of those or a LAN?

Ok go to LAN, Automatic Configuration, Advanced Settings. It's at the bottom. Most colleges do PS2s and Xboxs this way.

Once you give them that, you should wait 10 minutes or so and do automatic configuration again, but test the settings, and it should go through DNAS fine. The MAC Address helps your college assign you an IP address.

So basically if I give them this number they change something about my setup and then when I try it again it will work?

Yep. Worked for me at UGA, and I found it out from another college website.

Alright I'm up lets go, somebody with ESPN football or basketball challenge me! I also have last years tiger woods and fifa 2003. I dont think any others will work
