In your opinion who is the most overlooked WWE Champion in WWE history?

Jericho. JR always mentions how he was the first-ever Undisputed champ and I'm thinking to myself "Mentioning that everytime he's on does not make up for how many times he has been dicked over since then!" :mad:

My pick for the most underrated WWE Champion is..... Yokozuna. A 500lb man with the agility of Rey Mysterio and a decent amount of technical skills. Sure he held the title for almost a year, but ppl are only going to remember him for 2 things: being fat and losing the WWE title by falling off the ropes(at WM 10 vs Bret Hart for those of you who don't know).

Saying Rodney had the agility of Rey Mysterio is a extergratting very much, I admit, he was Agile for someone his size, but it was all in all, about the same as Rikishi, give or take.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, Yoko fell off the ropes (or the ropes snapped) when he was facing Steve Austin in the Free For All (Televised before a PPV).

But...To Agree with the current trend and proberly because he is my favorite Wrestler...

Eddie Guerrero is another good one too, they could of done so much more with his reign but it was bought down by him jobbing to JBL

I think thats going a weeee bit far. He was very fast in the ring though for his size, for a lot of the big guys they seem to work on a "less is more" philosophy, that was never really the case with yoko.

Id say overall him and bigshow, show has really picked it up in the ring over the last year or more, after the amount of retarded storylines he had to work through its suprising he's been wwe champion 3 times. I just wish they would settle on him being a big force and not someone that can be routinely beat by wrestlers half his size and less than half his weight.

I reckon Macho Man might be the most underrated champion. Nobody ever really mentions his WWE Title reigns, even though most people acknowledge that he was awesome at that time.

Jericho. Instead of classic match after classic match, they pretty much made him look like a cheating pussy in match after match. It was like WTF? Right before he won the belt he was like the greatest wrestler in the WWE.

Yokozuna fell off the ropes twice.Yes, this sad occurance happened twice. The first time was at WM 10 vs Bret Hart and the second time was at the pre-show for Summerslam 1996 vs Austin. :-\

I'll go with Savage. I think Jericho was screwed over, but at the same time, his reign wasn't anything really special. That wasn't totally his fault, but I dont think its puts him tops on this list.

I'd say Savage for the reasons that were mentioned by CW 3:16. His run was smack dab in the middle of the Hogan era and business continued to grow under him, and that whole year plus angle played out as good as almost any wrestling angle in the history of pro wrestling.

Savage's second reign was nothing worth mentioning, except for a nice match with Flair at Mania.

But that first run should put him in the same breath as Hogan, Austin and Rock when talking about best champs of the modern era.

My hero Jericho. He was screwed over by Stephanie Helmsly-Horowitz, HHH, and of course, Lucy the dog. It could have been great.. but at least I got to see him live with those belts.

As much as I want to say Jericho, I'm going to say Kane...even though I'm basing it off his day title riegn.

Let's be real, Jericho suck as champion. It was not all his fault but he still suck. The Main Event at Mania 18 is probably the worst in history of Mania main events. Even Bam vs.LT match was more entertaining.

Most underrated, SYCHO SID. 96 was a bad year for the WWE overall but when SId took the belt from HBK, we saw a change. WWE start to become slowly popular again. Largely due to Austin/Hart but Sid was champion and his promo and matches was better than usual. His fued with HBK alongside Austin/Hart was the only entertaining thing about the WWE. He will always be remember for his Mania main event and late WCW days but I remember watching Raw when he was there and Sid was the man.

I wish you guys can get a hand on most of the Raw episodes from Oct.1996-March 1997. Sid was the man and was a good champion.

Big Show would be my bet. I never saw his original WWE title reign but his one where he was feuding with Brock and Angle (I cant remember if it was both of them or just one) was a really solid title reign that is often overlooked.

He should have had a longer reign as champ. 3 weeks was like his longest reign

Foley is a good choice! 3 runs (i think)...but they were all short

JBL. He is champ for the number 2 brand, in toughest time in the WWE since 1996.

Believe me, you missed nothing. It was a piss poor title run. When he was first WWE champ, the title scene wasn't the mainevent, instead I wanna say it was HHH and Austin (and this was before HHH was holding people down), and I believe it was because Show sucked so bad, plus Austin was still huge at the time, that he didn't get any credit.

Actually, Austin was injured. Big Show replace him and won the title at SSeries 99. HHH/DX/Vince/Steph/Test was the headlines at the time. Rock and Sock Connection was born. Jericho and Chyna was going at it for the IC title. Russo and Jarrett left for WCW. Big Show had no other choice but to fued with Big Bossman, and the angle was stupid. Bossman was talking about how Show father died of cancer(I think). Show first title reign lasted only two months, THANK GOD.

that armegeddon main event was REALLY average.
i remember watching it earlier in the year for the first time thinking *i wodner what the main event will be*. When it got to it i just went :wtf: . i never considered bossman (RIP) a main eventer, and BS, esspecially back then, really needed a great wrestler to get a good match.

Big Show was the worst WWE champion ever, even Warrior had a more entertaining run.

Sgt. Slaughter short reign as champion was entertaining but too short to be underrated.

Actually, I do. He was that piece of crap that bored me when I was about 12 years old and I was a mark.
The whole bodyguard angle thing never did it for me. It took time off me ssing Razor Ramon and Tatanka.

Am talking about Sid Vicious(Sycho Sid at the time) from Oct.96-Mar.97, not a great champion but was decent enough and was the start of the WWE moving to something good.

I liked Backlund's heel run as champ. That pissed me off big time when he took the Title from Bret at Survivor Series though.

Man the WWE needs some babyfaces we can care about again. It was one of those "clinching your fists" and screaming "Dammit" at the TV when Backlund got the Title.

Another one of those Title switch moments that pissed me off was when Slaughter took it from Warrior.

<font color=cyan>I'm gonna say Y2J and Orton. Y2J is awesome in the ring, awesome behind the mic, but it seems since that night that he wouldn't be Triple H's love slave the WWE doesn't believe he's anything more than the king of midcard hell.

Now, why Orton? He's great in the ring, and better than Triple H behind the mic as a face or heel. I don't think there was enough hype behind his title shot, and with how quickly he lost the title... It would have been better if he would have held onto for another freakin' week at least!

Honorable mentions- Backlund, Yokozuna, Sid (I LOVED his fued with The Undertaker!), Savage, and more that I can't think of.
