Favorite Survivor Series PPV

With Survivor Series just around the corner, I'd thought I'd ask what everybody's favorite Survivor Series PPV was.

Poll coming.

DaveWadding 10-25-2004 04:19 PM

90, by far.

I  the Million Dollar Man/Rhythm & Blues/Undertaker vs. Dusty Wodes/Hart Foundation/Koko B. Ware match, plus the Gooker thing :D, and the Grand Finale match.

Loose Cannon 10-25-2004 04:21 PM

I really enjoyed 1990. Loved all the stable wars on that one. Taker debuted and killed Koko B Ware

An entire team won a match (Visionaries over the Vipers)

And they had the Grand Finale thing for the wrestlers that won thier matches. Warrior and Hulk won the whole thing.

Yea, good times.

WADDING :D

1998 The Rock's 1st WWE title

fucking brilliant storytelling. screwing Austin out of the title. I still remember Shane doing the 3 count for Austin:

1, 2, ........................................ (hands still in the air, Austin looks at Shane with a confused look on his face, Shane gives him the 2 finger salute, Foley pins Austin)

Then, in the finals, Rock puts Foley in the Sharpshooter Vince rings the bull and awards the title to Rock.

THE CORPORATE CHAMP IS BORN!!!

1993

I was such a big Lex luger fan, and the all americans vs the foreign fanatics:
Luger, steiners and Taker VS Yoko, Ludzig Borga and the Quebecers was sooo cool back then!

Hmmm, cant remember any other matches on the card, jsut luger slamming yoko :) :) :)

I actually REALLY enjoyed 2003 too! It was the first EVER live pay per view i had ever seen

That was 93.

Anyway I like 92 the best. The first casket match on PPV, Natural Disasters & Nasty Boys defeating Money Inc. and the Beverly Bros, Savage and Hennig putting on a great match against Flair and Razor Ramon, as well as Bret vs. HBK.

SuperSlim 10-25-2004 05:37 PM

I went '97 style

my bad.
i did vote '93, but i saw everyone had voted 1990 so i must've had it on my mind.

hey, i'm at uni, been here 16 hours straight, give me some credit :p

i voted 95 it was a good PPV goldust debuted i think on PPV shawn michaels team vs ramones team was awesome the main event was good with bret hard beating diesel

I voted for '03, but I meant '02, keeping in mind it is one of the only SS PPVs I've seen.

I watched it the other night, and the lowest rated match on the card (IMO) should have been Brock Lesnar vs. The Big Show for the WWE Championship, which in my mind should have scored a C+ or B-. With two A level matches on the card, amd every match having some "survival" theme to it, the line-up was very diverse and entertaining.

that was that ultra short match right?
when heyman sided with BS

GODSON 10-26-2004 10:37 AM

1996

Bret Hart vs.Austin, greatest match of all time
Sid vs.HBK, greatest Sid one on one match and probably HBK best carrying job
Two good Survivor Series match
The Free for all was pretty good
The Rock first major win in the WWE

90 would be my favourite but can anybody tell me the yer that Monsoon had a lottery for the teams? It ended putting friend and foe on the same team in this case Bulldog and Michaels ended up in the same team. At the end of the match Michaels and Ahmed Johnson hugged. I think it might be 95 or 96.

V 10-26-2004 05:16 PM

i've only seen 01, 02, and 03

i loved 01.. JEff hardy's swanton from the top of the cage through a table, the rock killing WCW... it was great

Pretty sure that was 95. That was a pretty cool concept though.

T'was. The match wasn't exactly anything too noteworthy, but the way they went outside the ring, had Brock prove he can suplex & F-5 The Big Show, and get the title change done, they had created a short and sweet piece of work.

I reckon 2003 was the best. It's the only PPV I've watched live on TV from start to finish. I was hooked on seeing what else would happen after Cena F-U'ed Big Show and the McMahons/Austin promo straight after the match.

LK 10-26-2004 08:04 PM

I really enjoyed the 98 Survivor Series

Crimson 10-26-2004 10:03 PM

1990, with '98 a close 2nd. The only reason I went 90 is because it was the original style matches with a cherry on top with the finale. And it had Martel and Tito in the finals.

123 kid 10-27-2004 02:44 PM

I have only seen 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003. From them I enjoyed 2002 the most; first ever elimination chamber, 6 man tag table match (including rico's famous 'COME ON JEFF, GOD DAMMIT!) and one of the most underrated matches. Billy Kidman V Jamie Noble, with the sicko DDT!
