Rate The Wrestler - Day 71 - Marcus "Buff" Bagwell

Today Wrestler of the day is the man in my opinion, killed the WCW Invasion, with only one match, this man, also was the member of the nWo, a member of the American Males with Scotty Riggs, a member of Totally Buff with Lex Luger....and a man who thinks, he is the stuff, The Egomaniac known as Buff Bagwell.

He's got the look and all but from what I saw, he was pretty lacklustre in the ring.

Since he's been involved in a couple hot angles, (nWo, Invasion) I'll be nice and give him a 6 out of 10.

Hayabusa scored what now??? 87?

Considering his style is similar to that of Jeff Hardy and he botches alot of those moves I am VERY VERY surprized at his score.

I know I voted him high, but I'm a bit surprised as well. Glad though. Shinzaki will score higher hopefully. BTW, Hemi, I nominate Shinzaki

John la Rock 11-01-2004 01:45 AM

5.5

he was over mostly because he was Scott Steiner's bitch. nothing special

John la Rock 11-01-2004 01:46 AM

Ring ability: 6
Overness: 6
Work rate: 7
Politics: 6 (ridiculous ego)
Mic skill: 7.5
Overall rank: 6.5

That is a pretty generous score. I would have suggested Jinsei Shinzaki, but HBK2K alread has.

He's not terrible, but he's not exactly Kurt Angle either. I've never heard of him REALLY botching matches except for the one InVasion match. He's just kinda average at best. 4.5 is more like JBL.

Innovator 11-01-2004 03:00 AM

how the hell did Steamboat rank lower than the Rock, cmon

James Steele 11-01-2004 03:06 AM

Funky, JBL is more like a 5 to me.

I just never liked him, plus I saw him recently on a MXPW show and the match sucked. (v. Chaz)

Speaking of which:

I nominate Chaz/Mosh!

SuperSlim 11-01-2004 09:43 AM

Buff gets slapped.

*5 seconds later

Buff finally sells it.

I give the guy a 4.1... matter of fact I downgrade it to a 3.

The invasion was gonna be awesome and although there isn't just one reason why it failed but many. He was one of that many. I mena did you see the match he had on that Raw main event. Noone cared he was in it. And I'm tired of bein generous to wrestlers. Sure in WCW he had a little bit goin for him but that was it. He absolutely destroyed it tryin to bring his mom into things then just bein so awful and a total egomaniac in the ring.

Eunos 11-01-2004 10:55 AM

5 He looks like George Michael.

Not Brilliant but theres worse out there.

Sickboy 11-01-2004 01:04 PM

6.5

BigDaddyCool 11-01-2004 01:20 PM

I give Buff a big ass 1.

Reasons why: He sucks.
He was a Johnny come lately (take for examples, he never thought up nWo, he has nothing to do with Hogan, Nash, and Hall, but somehow he got in the nWo right when it was really picking up).
He suckes in the ring, what with his 3 spots, and stupid posing.
His gimmick sucks and is unoriginal, he is basicly WWF's Lex Luger with a stupid hat on.
He used his mom as an agent. (While it isn't uncommon to have an agent in wrestling, infact it is wise to do so, having your mom doing it is just so high school part-time jobbish.)
Also, the Judy Bagwell on a pole match, what the hell.

The only thing that could suck more than Buff would be X-Pac v. Buff in a Judy Bagwell on a pole match, I can't tell you who the winner is, but I know we are all losers in that match.

His early WCW days were ok, nothing special but nothing really that terrible. But ever since Steiner broke his neck, he went downhill, especially with all the shitty stuff with his mom.

Blue Demon 11-01-2004 06:00 PM

5..never really liked the guy...wasn't a very good worker

The Answer 11-01-2004 06:25 PM

8, He was pretty entertaining and that Blockbuster finisher was pretty innovative at least I hadn't seen the move before.
