Wrestling VHS/DVD you have just watched?

There's this type of thread in the Music Forum and in the TV/Movies forum. So I thought it might be an idea to do a similarly related one in here :D.
As well as this being a good way to get your post count up ;) , it also enables us to discuss the events mentioned. Bringing back some good and maybe bad memories.
I'll start us off.....

I just watched Unforgiven 1999, including the Six-Pack challenge match for the WWE Championship, between Kane, Triple H, Bulldog, The Rock, Big Show and Mankind. Guess who won?
Also another match on there worth mentioning is Mark Henry V D'Lo Brown, which was actually a good match, with D'Lo pulling off some High-Flying stuff! He even did a hurricanrana! D'Lo eventually picked up the win by using the Lo Down, which made him the European Champion.

Your Turn ;)

I started SummerSlam 2001 last night. Got up to the cage match. The opening match, Lance Storm vs. Edge, was pretty good. The ladder match with Jeff Hardy and RVD was great.

Gonna watch the two main events later.

crash99 11-08-2004 12:40 PM

I just watched Royal Rumble 2004. The Rumblw match itself is awesome.

Innovator 11-08-2004 12:44 PM

ROH - Tradition Continues

Punk vs. Styles for the PURE Wrestling Title, with Steamboat as the ref

then Samoa Joe vs. Jay Briscoe in a cage

Ferocious 11-08-2004 01:04 PM

Yeah, I have that on VHS, that event's pretty good, also has Shawn Michaels V Marty Jannetty for the Intercontinental Championship. The only think keeping this event down is the Rumble Match itself IMO.

Mike the Metal Ed 11-08-2004 01:21 PM

I watched Survivor Series 2003 the other night.

Disturbed316 11-08-2004 02:05 PM

Watched Judgement Day 04 last night and Great American Bash 04 and Insurrextion 03 this afternoon.

RGWhat316 11-08-2004 04:25 PM

I borrowed The Rock: Just Bring It from a friend, and was a really good dvd. The extras/promos remind me of why I miss Rock being back full time. Anybody remember Hermie?

123 kid 11-09-2004 10:33 AM

Last night I watched Royal Rumble 2000, which had some cool matches including the first ever tag team tables match between The Hardys and The Dudleys. The first ever Miss Rumble 2000 contest, where Mae Young's 'puppies' were revealed :naughty: :shifty: :nono:!! And of course, the royal rumble match - which is one of the greatest Royal Rumbles of all time IMO.

Haha i just watched the PPV after that-no mercy 1999,last night.
Wasn't that good as i used to think it was, but maybe thats cos ive seen it so many times. Stone cold faced Triple H for the title and lost thanks to the rock interfering, who got hammered by Triple H earlier with the sledgehammer after making a challenge to the winner of the match. I think the build up seemed better than the match itsself.

All the other matches were very gimmicky, if you get what i mean. That's soemthing the WWE lacks today, even though they wer epoor matches at that PPV, the wrestlers had gimmicks which was what made it entertaining at the time.

Sephiroth 11-09-2004 02:12 PM

Just watched 1-2-3 kid vs Bret Hart

Londoner 11-09-2004 02:16 PM

oh yeah, and the ladder match between edge and christian v the brood(The hardys w/ gangrel) is also worth mentioning. The winners got terri and $100,000,but anyway, what the fuck were the hardys doing in the brood?(is that the correct name?My minds tired and can't remember exactly)

SuperSlim 11-09-2004 02:17 PM

you forgot HHH vs Foley. One of the greatest matches of all time

Aussie Skier 11-10-2004 03:46 AM

WM19 about a week ago

Matches in order of best:
Austin VS Rock
Angle VS Lesner
Hogan VS Vince
Booker VS HHH
Matt Hardy VS Rey rey
WGTT VS Rhyno and Benoit VS Chavo and Eddie
Can't remember any of the others

nWo 4 Life 11-10-2004 08:50 AM

I watched WMXV the other day.

A great PPV. The Austin/McMahon rivalry, The Corporation vs The Ministry, The Corporation vs DX, great times.

Matches:

Mr. Ass vs Hardcore Holly vs Al Snow for the WWF Hardcore Title.

A pretty good match, which saw the invention of the Poetry In Motion (Al Snow used a chair instead of a guy, but same effect), the match ended when Mr. Ass hit the Fame Asser on Al, then Hardcore hit Gunn with the chair and covered Snow to win the title.

Road Dogg vs Goldust vs Val Venis vs Ken Shamrock for the WWF Intercontinental Title.

This was one of my favourites. Goldust brought Blue Meanie and Ryan Shamrock to ringside with him. About 7 minutes in, Venis and Shamrock got counted out, leaving Goldust and Road Dogg. Back and forth action which ended when Ryan tripped up Goldust instead of Road Dogg, then after the Pumphandle Slam, Road Dogg retained the title.

Sable vs Tori for the WWF Womens Championship.

Not much to report on this match, except after a botched counter to the Sable Bomb, Nicole Bass made her debut and Gorilla Pressed Tori to help Sable retain the title.

Big Show vs Mankind.

The winner of this match would be the guest referee in the WWF Championship match later on. After good offense by both guys, Big Show used a chair on Mankind's back on the outside, then Chokeslammed him through 2 chairs on the inside. Mankind won by DQ, but had to be taken to hospital :wtf: Mr McMahon then came down and gave Show a telling off because he may have just cost him the title. Show slugged Vince and walked to the back. Later on, Vince had Show arrested for assault.

Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett vs D'Lo Brown and Test for the WWF Tag Team Titles.

A battle royal was on Heat and the last 2 guys would face Owen and Jeff at WM. Test and D'lo weren't exactly on the same page, but worked quite well at times. Debra kept interfering in the match, which prompted Ivory to show herself. While they bickered outside, Owen dropkicked D'lo, causing Jeff to roll-up pin him to retain the titles.

HHH vs Kane.

HHH was angry with Kane because Chyna had left him and DX to join Kane and the Corporation. Chyna came down about half way through when both guys were down.

I'll finish the review later. I have a class.

SuperSlim 11-10-2004 08:58 AM

WM XV was a good one. I do beleive the last DVD I watched was Backlash (2004) with Orton vs. Cactus Jack(or Mick Foley). Golden match there.

Blue Demon 11-10-2004 09:00 AM

WrestleMania X8

hey now Victoria and Jazz put on a good match, just that Trish was in it and that messed it up. There was also the Raw tag team thing that wasn't so hot.

Then you can't forget about the pillow fight of crap featurin two backyard girls vs. two WWE girls and the Coach in his tighty whities.

Oh yeah! How could I forget! Yeah that match was great too IMO. Just a shame that Foley didn't pick up the win :-\

lol Stratisfaction was pretty good :$

Marc the Smark 11-11-2004 02:38 PM

Just watched "The Monday Night War" and the Ric Flair tribute. :y:

123 kid 11-11-2004 02:59 PM

I'm watching Unforgiven 1998 right now. I'm on the Triple H V Owen Hart match (where Chyna is held above the ring in a cage). This is only the 2nd match of the P.P.V, so the only match before this was Shamrock, Faarooq and Steve Blackman V D'Lo Brown, Mark Henry and The Rock. Which was a pretty good match IMO.

I'll post a fuller report once the P.P.V is over.

OK, just finished watching Unforgiven 1998, it was an OK event, it had Shamrock, Faarooq and Blackman V The Nation
HHH V Owen Hart
'Bonus match' for NWA Tag Titles - Rock 'n' Roll Express V Midnight Express
Bra and Panties - Sable V Luna
Tag Titles - NAO V L.O.D 2000
Inferno Match - Kane V Undertaker
WWF/E Title - Steve Austin V Dude Love

The best match was probably HHH V Owen Hart or the opening Six-Man Tag match. The inferno match was OK, but it was a little disappointing. Austin v Dude Love was pretty good, as were the rest of the matches. Although the NWA Tag match was pretty crap and pointless, why the hell did they have a NWA match on there?

Yeah, so now I'm gonna go back in time and watch Summerslam 1992, I'll post about it once I've watched it.
