I just played the weirdest game ever.... Katamari Damacy
 

Some guy came into the store the other day talking about how fun it was to get drunk and play this game. I checked it out and tried it this morning (sans the alchohol) and I'm not sure what to think. It was strangely fun and addictive, but very very very strange.

You control a little prince and your father, the king, has just destroyed all of the stars. The object of the game is to roll things into a ball to create new stars. You star out small with thumbtacks and such, but as your ball gets bigger you can roll up more objects like house plants, cats, and even people. It's filled to the brim with "japanese weirdness." Randomness, happiness, and whatever else they wanted to throw in. For example, you are transported away from Earth at the end of the level by a Royal Rainbow that comes out of the King's mouth.

So anyway, if you're looking for a new game that is nothing like anything you've ever played, you might want to give this one a shot.

I love that game and I have no idea why.

I'm playing it on PS2, not sure if it's available for anything else.

The biggest ball I've created so far (very early in the game) is 1.24m around and I was already picking up small children with it. Aparently the balls get up to as big as 800m! I can't imagine what I'll be rolling up in balls that big.

Yeah, it's only out on the PS2. It was released at 20 bucks too.

That about how far I am in the game. I played it for hours the first night I got it but forgot to save so I had to start over.

I've heard of it, it sounds odd. I may pick it up for the hell of it.

This will more than likely be a sleeper hit.

:lol: I beat it this weekend. Shortest game EVER. Still fun though, definitely worth a rent.

Yeah I have it. I'm spanning it over a long period of time. It's hilarious. I love it.

:lol: My biggest was only like 678 or something. It was strange picking up the storm clouds and seeing it rain inside my Katamari.
