Early TNA Victory Road Buyrate

The mood backstage at this Tuesday's TNA tapings was very good. The word spread that the early buyrate for the Victory Road PPV was very encouraging. TNA president Dixie Carter was telling people how thrilled she was with what the PPV providers have been telling her about Victory road.

TNA was expecting about 25,000 buys, however now many are thinking more in the 40,000-50,000 range.

TNA owner Bob Carter was also said to be extremely happy over the numbers that have been coming in. Even Jeff Jarrett, whose wife is currently battling cancer, was in a better mood than usual.

That's very very very encouraging to hear. I forgot what I predicted, it's in that thread somewhere, but it's good to know TNA is appealing to people :y: :y: :y:

I would bet on the next month beign about half of whatever the first month does.

Hopefully they do enough to start to turn the corner, but when you figure how muich money they're shelling out to get useless guys like Savage, it probably wont even out.

I was expecting a lot less than that.

Great news!

That's good, but I hope they don't get cocky. They should keep booking like they've only got 25,000 fans, and while they should push themselves like they are in EXTREME danger. Victory Road was a great PPV to my understanding, if they can do the same with Turning Point, and all that follow, then they should steadily increase in buys and ratings. All they need is good booking, to have a bit of extra cash and maybe two weekly 2-hour PPV quality shows. Maybe add a one-hour Xplosion which the fans vote to book matches.

That sounds like good news, hope it continues goign well for them.

Cynick: Why is it that your always critical? I know your being realistic but damn, say soemthing positive man!

Alienoid: I was with you up until you said the fans vote to book matches idea. I think that could only really work if they did it the WWE way, and we all know how that turned out. I'm sorta 50/50 on that. It wont happen anyway though, would be a good way to catch interest however.

and LC your original or their prediction was I think 20,000 buys...which means, they suceeded in what they were going for..but for some reason, I feel Turning Point will score lower, since I beleive alot of people ordered TNA Victory Road, because it was there first 3 hour PPV and knew they would throw something special out...either way, we know I'm ordering Turning Point

That's great news! Now, all they have to do is publicize that WWE lawsuit and get more exposure! :shifty:

Anyway, best of luck to them.... hope they don't screw it up.

The CyNick 11-18-2004 11:10 PM

If TNA was paying me to be a cheerleader, then I'd say positive things, as it is, I just call it like I see it.

BTW, Meltz is saying the numbers going around are higher inflated. So.
