I'm thankful for Brett Favre, because I'll be able to tell my kids that I watched one of the all-time greats (if not the all-time great by the time he's finished).

Ditto for Michael Jordan.

I'm thankful for the SportsCenter Top Ten (but I'm not thankful for Chris Berman).

Question... Why do people say the New York Football Giants? Why do they say the football part

Gonzo 11-22-2004 08:53 PM

I think there used to be another team in New York called the Giants, dunno really. Sounds good enough to me I guess.

RoXer 11-22-2004 08:53 PM

There is also a Baseball Giants. They also used to play in New York.

I'm thankful for:

-being able to have seen IMO the best football player ever, Barry Sanders, play football and bring some respect to the dismal Detroit Lions franchise

-Roy Williams

-being able to see Brett Favre (2nd favorite all-time player behind Sanders  ) play live when I went to a Packers/Lions game at the Silverdome. I wasn't thankful that he won though, mind you.

-Matt Millon bringing in Mariucci (and trust me, this is probably the ONLY time I'll ever use the words "thank" and "Matt Millon" in the same thought process)

-Nate Poole's only noteworthy play as an NFL player

-the hockey lockout, because now people in Detroit are paying attention to teams other than the Red Wings (other than that though, I would quite enjoy hockey coming back)

-Thursday afternoon football this week (hey it IS Thanksgiving, better be thankful that I can watch the Lions play before work  )

The Outlaw 11-24-2004 03:13 AM

I am thankful for:

Also splaya, are you saying you are thankful for the Brawl, since that's what the pic is from?
