what is the fastest and longest matches in wwe history?

Cena v CCC last officially about 15 seconds after all the crap outside the ring, he rolled him in, hit the FU and got the pin.

who holds the record for fastest match as im sure ive seen one last shorter than that. also while on the subject who holds the record for the longest match as i seem to remember hogan going for about 90mins in his youth (well mid 80's anyway) against someone like the iron sheik.

John la Rock 11-22-2004 06:55 PM

I think Diesel pinned Bob Backlund to win the WWE title in 7 seconds

The longest match in WWE history is Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels from Wrestlemania XII

Mike the Metal Ed 11-22-2004 06:56 PM

The Rock pinned the Big Boss Man in 4-5 seconds at Survivor Series 98.

OssMan 11-22-2004 07:02 PM

what about that Sara vs DDP match from a few years ago, it was like four seconds.

Savio 11-22-2004 07:08 PM

Jeff rolled up benoit in like 5 seconds

I thought Backlund held the record for fastest match...not sure if he made some one tap or pinned them but it was only a 3 second match...

Xero 11-22-2004 07:32 PM

Hogan going 90 minutes... That's an hour and a half. I'm sorry, I seriously can't see that. Even if he was in the greatest shape and age in his life, I can't see him going much over an hour. Bret and Michaels were getting worn down at the end of the Iron Man Match. They were in great shape. Possibly better than Hogan in his heyday. Hogan going 1/2 longer than that? Hell no.

Someone prove me wrong, but I just can't see that. Ever.

As for the shortest, I don't know. There have been many *boom, pin* matches. I can't name many, but I know there have been many.

Drakul 11-22-2004 07:39 PM

I'm sure spike beat regal in 2 secs.He hit him with the knucks b4 the bell rung and pinned him and the refs count of 3 only last 2 seconds.

But the ref counted 2, and then had to be told to 'Count' by Chief Morely- so maybe 3.5 seconds. :D

Shadow 11-22-2004 07:52 PM

GO JEFF!

Hardy you fools

FakeLaser 11-22-2004 07:53 PM

If you want to get technical matches back in early WWWF often went for longer than an hour.

Eunos 11-22-2004 07:56 PM

Some time this year Kane beat Steven Richards pretty quick.

Stickman 11-22-2004 08:21 PM

Sable beat Marc Mero super fast didn't she? (Save the sexual comments)

Apprentice 11-22-2004 08:31 PM

How long was the Macho Man vs Warrior Retirement match? I just remember it was really really long.

If I recall correctly that was somewhere in the vicinity of 45 minutes long.

I know that SD Jones had the quickest Wrestlemania Match, but I'm not sure if his record still stands. My guess for longest are the Iron Man matches (in the last 10 years anyway).

didn't goldust job to austins middle fingers once? that was hilarious

Corkscrewed 11-23-2004 03:33 AM

A century ago they used to do matches that lasted two hours, to my knowledge.

Good stuff.

Quickest match ever, as mentioned, was Rock rolling up Bossman in 4 seconds at Survivor Series 98.

Dave Youell 11-23-2004 07:59 AM

Ok Shortest was Bossman/Rock from SS 98

Longest that I can recall techincally was Goldust/Piper in the hollywood back street brawl, it lasted over 1 1/2 hours purely from the time the Ref started the match to the point where the Ref ended the match, granted they were driving for an hour, but you wern't that specific

Earthquake and Adam Bomb did a squash match at a Wrestlemania; I believe it was 10. That ended right off the bat, basically before it began. I believe that that was even shorter than SD's match.

Also, as for longest match - I am assuming we're just talking about in WWE? Because you had guys like Thesz who worked matches that took hours. Way back when guys like Hackenschmidt were around, you could go home, get some sleep and come back and they might still be going.

Shawshank 11-23-2004 03:54 PM

i was jus asking in general i dunno, i think that hogan match might have only been about 10 minutes long but in them days it seemed to take ages for them to pull off moves inbetween all the test of stength crap they use to do, thats why i think it lasted longer than it did.

i was reallly thinking more of the last 20 years since ive been watching wrestling for both questions.

didnt triple h just sneak up behind someone and get a 3 count by rolling them up off the ropes before? also i remember someone sneaking up on crash holly before and getting the ref to count to 3 while crash was asleep for the hardcore title.

the_rock's_#1_fan 11-24-2004 03:33 PM

not to nitpick John la Rock, but wasn't the match you're referring to actually 6 seconds?

Londoner 11-24-2004 03:44 PM

^That was that guy who was always with pat patterson(the guy who pinned crash while he was asleep), can't remember his name right now.

Londoner 11-24-2004 03:45 PM

My reply was meant to be for shawshank.

Nacho Man 11-24-2004 06:17 PM

Yeah, it was Wrestlemania X. Harvey Whipleman ripped Howard Finkels suit and said he had a monkey nose and a wig or something. Funny stuff.

Fabien Barthez 11-24-2004 07:33 PM

what about a royal rumble match, we know they used to be at least 90 minutes untill about 1997.

1991 lasted 1.32.17

Mike the Metal Ed 11-24-2004 08:10 PM
