need music...
ok, when the HD crashed lost like 8-10gig of music that was built up over years and years.
Anyway, time to rebuild. So, Napster is a pay per song site. I've been told Kazaa is now crap. I tried soulseek, wasn't overly impressed. Any suggestions? (and before someone says "buy some music" I'm going to go through my cd's and scan in songs I like so I can make mixes or send to my mp3 player). |
What is not impressive about SoulSeek? You can find everything you want and more on there

Try LimeWire.

Or Bearshare is decent. Probably not the best though.

Limewire is by far the best.

I never really saw the big fuss with Soulseek. Like 99 percent of the songs are always queued. It's cool to download directly from people but otherwise... meh
|
Win MX?

yeah, waiting for 893784738 people to download a song before you is pretty gay.
i find using the torrent programs and stuff is good though. like suprnova.org. there's laods of albums worth of music on there, and you get pretty decent download rates on most of them. |

I dunno, I find anything I want easily.
Also, a few tips for you soulseeks noobs: When you are searching for a song/file/whatever, sort the results by clicking D/L Speed. Then choose from the first few accurate results in black. You get the fastest available downloads that way. Also, I might suggest donating $5, since you get queue privileges (ie jumping to the front of queues, making life pretty fucking easy). Also, is you notice that one of your D/Ls is going particularly fast, browse that guy's files. You never know what you will find. Use the wishlist to find rare songs you are looking for. It will keep searching in the background until it finds something, then you will be alerted with a new search tab. |
I use Bearshare, it's pretty fast and reliable.
