Thoughts?.Just trying to see what other posters think and trying to get a consensus

i think taping out only counts if you tap more than three times. and if thats so edge started tapping on the three count so he should have won

I think they need to set a precedent. Tapping out should count more than a pin or vice versa, either way HHH should no longer have the title and that's the important fact here.

I've watched the tape again, and here's how it should go:

1) Benoit won the battle royal. I like to tape these things using the fastest taping speed on the VCR so there are more frames to look at when I need to go frame by frame. Needless to say, I did so, and it was almost too close to call, but looking again, somewhere inbetween frames their feet both touched, but in the closest frame to the event, you can see that Edge's knees are bent in reflex of them touching the ground while Benoit's are relatively straight out and only his toes are touching the ground. Benoit wins.

2) Edge had Benoit pinned for at least a two count already before the ref started counting. It took the ref some time to slide his hand under Benoit's shoulders to see if he was indeed pinned, which was quite noticable that he was when watching the tape. The ref decided that both of Benoit's shoulders were down after a moment and began counting the pin. On the third count, Edge began to tap once the ref's hand was about half ways down.

3: Eugene is the current World Heavyweight Champion, however, because nobody has beaten him for the world title. Why? Just ask Randy Orton, Raw's interim general manager. When he came out to discuss the matches of the night's show, he mentioned that La Resistance would be fighting Eugene and Regal for the "WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP". So Eugene got the pin and the championship. He just didn't pick it up right away.

It appeared to me that Edge did not tap out to the Crossface, and when he reversed it into another submission hold Benoit's shoulders are down for the 3 count.

I didn't watch the show frame to frame, but I think Edge won the match even though it doesn't matter cause the belt will be around HHH's waist again next week or at NYR.

No Edge hit first, or he fell with his knees bent. Unlikely. The 1st time they showed a viable replay, as Tuscon clearly points out, Benoit is the winner of the Royal.

Meh, that won't happen...not any time soon :( , they will probably have a Triple Treat match for the World Title with HHH vs Edge vs Benoit with HHH winning it...

Why do you think that? I'm personally thrilled that the WWE went with a cliffhanger ending to Raw for once. Now I'm really looking forward to the show tomorrow night. This is why the WWE kicked so much ass in 98-99.

The raw ending was a classic, not only has it got people talking about it-but im actually looking forward to a raw this week, but i can just imagine the ending is gonna dissapoint me, whenever there is this much hype-the heel(hhh) always wins in the end.

Boy Edge will be pissed if he doesn't get the title :D


anyway I think Edge one the battleroyal because from the stills you see edge has a foot half on half off the ground. with the match I think the pinfall counted first by a split second.

Because it was predictable and I hate dumb endings like that. I kinda knew what was gonna happen after the battle royal. Two similar endings to two matches in one night is retarded. :roll: :roll: :roll:

Im gonna go with Edge winning it because I was rooting for him and basically as many people have said he clearly won that.

But IMO that is the worst stupid finisher they could do. Sure it might be new to the people who are just getting into wrestling or something of that sort but thats been done a billion times now. Its no fun anymore to see that ending happen. They should of had something else. I know that now it sets up a future between these three but the point is that that ending has lost interest to me.

Yes I do, Triple H will regain the title, or Edge will get it. Not a big mystery.
