best Build-up in a song?

This should be a good way to find some kick ass songs.

so yeah, name your favorites.

Funky Fly 12-02-2004 11:42 PM

Nas - One Mic

That is a good rap song that goes from whispering to yelling and so on.

Penner 12-03-2004 12:13 AM

silverstein - smashed into pieces

el fregadero 12-03-2004 12:33 AM

Basically all Tool songs have great build-ups, but I am guessing you already know their stuff.

Gertner 12-03-2004 12:33 AM

Christ, any Trance song.

Tiesto - Traffic

Benny Benassi" Satisfaction"

Sasha and Digweed- Heaven Sent

Ferry Corsten- Everything Goes

Armin Van Buuren ft Justine Susissa - Burned with Desire (Remix)

Tiesto ft sarah McLachlean" Delierium

Infected Mushroom" City of the Future.

I can go on and on.

Hollywood Red 12-03-2004 12:42 AM

"East Hasting" by Godspeed You Black Emperor
"Ender" by Finch
"Are You Sad" by Our Lady Peace
"3 Libras" by A Perfect Circle

Not so much on the last two, but they have a slight build to them.

What Would Kevin Do? 12-03-2004 12:54 AM

Guns and Roses "Sweet Child O' Mine"
The Who "Pinball Wizard" and Teenage Wasteland

Probably the three best song intros I've ever heard, in that order.

Innovator 12-03-2004 01:03 AM

Enter Sandman

Till I Collapse

Yeah, "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "Baba O'Reilly" are great intros. "Welcome to the Jungle" by GnR isn't too bad either.

Matthew Good "avalanche"
Tool "eulogy"
Soundgarden "Jesus Christ Pose"
Mad Season "Wake Up"

Kid Robb 12-03-2004 10:36 PM

I'm not a great Guns n Roses fan, but in terms of building a song up then pretty much stopping it and restarting it in one song, it's hard to beat Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, Sweet Child o Mine etc.

Jason Cage 12-04-2004 02:49 PM

Korn's "Faget" seems to be doing it for me at the moment.

Vastardikai 12-10-2004 11:47 AM

"At the Stake" the Melvins
"Bury me In Smoke" Down
"Binge and Purge" Clutch
Any Death (RIP Chuck)
