Just got the game today. Priitty cool shit. Very open-ended....which has its drawbacks. Definitely cool though. It has no tutorial...which blows...so you have to figure it out for yourself. Beginner is way too easy too. Beat the Top pirate in the first 10 minutes of the game. *shrug* But the 2nd difficulty has much tougher for me. Lots of different gameplay styles. I'd definitely recommend it :y:

It was easy to know how to play, well, if you played the old school version as much as I did. Love this game.

So is this a role playing game? Sid Meire's CivilavationII is/was my favourite game.Ever. So seeing a title with his name makes me biased and excited.

Different Game Styles
---------------------
-Exploring with ship/ Naval Battles (real time, you can use different types of shots to down the enemy ship)
-Boarding other people's ships aka Sword Battle. Effectively use parries and the like to defeat the captain.
-Treasure hunting. Landing on land and finding pirate's buried treasure.
-Invading towns - Turn based combat. Use terrain effectively. Also, you may sneak into towns to invade them. Simple stealth game there.
-Dancing - Yes, dancing with ugly women. I guess they look better over time. The game is alot like the sword combat game.

I'm sure I'm missing tons. There is alot to do. Overwhelming at times.

The first two bits sound rather similar to Sea Dogs, which was a pretty good game. Sounds more in depth overall though...

I've been waiting for this game for years.

I don't get paid until Friday though, so I have to wait until then. Hopefully I can get the Limited Edition version then.

I still play the old school Sega Genesis version, I can't wait for Christmas to get the new one.

My god it is so much fun. Its basically a remake of the original, except everything is like 20x better now.

Saw it in EB games the other day. THey need it to come out on gamecube.
