Rate The Wrestler - Day 125 - "World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock
Wel, Helmsphere here, again, still wondering where Funky Fly is, i haven't seen in him in almost a week now...
Moving forward, yesterday Wrestler, Paul London, scored a above average but not good enough, 81, While he may be mega talented, he has really failed to taste sucess, which kept him from a higher score, Anyways, Today's Wrestler is former UFC Champion, WWE Intercontinental Champion, King OF The Ring Winner, and the first ever NWA-TNA World Heavyweight Champion, He is the world's Most Dangerous Man, Ken Shamrock! <select><option><b>Rating History</b> <option>Day 1: Bret Hart (96) <option>Day 2: Chris Jericho (91) <option>Day 3: Rob Van Dam (78) <option>Day 4: Diamond Dallas Page (80) <option>Day 5: Low Ki (73) <option>Day 6: A.J Styles (89) <option>Day 7: Rey Mysterio Jr. (81) <option>Day 8: Owen Hart (95) <option>Day 9: Ultimo Dragon (84) <option>Day 10: Raven (87) <option>Day 11: "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith (84) <option>Day 12: The Hurricane (76) <option>Day 13: Brian Pillman (92) <option>Day 14: John Bradshaw Layfield (46) <option>Day 15: Taz (82) <option>Day 16: Bob "Hardcore" Holly (34) <option>Day 17: Christian (83) <option>Day 18: Ric Flair (87) <option>Day 19: Jeff Jarrett (65) <option>Day 20: Shawn Michaels (92) <option>Day 21: Ricky "Dragon" Steamboat (90) <option>Day 22: Kevin Nash (61) <option>Day 23: Jushin Lyger (88) <option>Day 24: Brock Lesnar (78) <option>Day 25: Sting (91) <option>Day 26: Lex Luger (55) <option>Day 27: Curt "Mr. Perfect" Henning (91) <option>Day 28: Andre The Giant (80) <option>Day 29: Vader (78) <option>Day 30: Jim "The Anvil" Niedhart (66) <option>Day 31: Scott Hall (83) <option>Day 32: Big Vito (60) <option>Day 33: Hollywood Hulk Hogan (82) <option>Day 34: Jerry Lynn (83) <option>Day 35: Kurt Angle (96) <option>Day 36: Mick Foley (88) <option>Day 37: Steve Corino (73) <option>Day 38: Randy Orton (82) <option>Day 39: Kane (84) <option>Day 40: John Cena (77) <option>Day 41: Doink The Clown (78) <option>Day 42: Arn Anderson (92) <option>Day 43: Alex Wright (73) <option>Day 44: Chris Benoit (88) <option>Day 45: Jamie Noble (73) <option>Day 46: Harley Race (88) <option>Day 47: Sean O'Haire (76) <option>Day 48: Kanyon (83) <option>Day 49: Triple H (81) <option>Day 50: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin (93) <option>Day 51: The Rock (92) <option>Day 52: Val Venis (75) <option>Day 53: Booker T (84) <option>Day 54: Eddie Guerrero (91) <option>Day 55: Sean "X-Pac" Waltman (60) <option>Day 56: William Regal (89) <option>Day 57: "Macho Man" Randy Savage (91) <option>Day 58: The Undertaker (88) <option>Day:59: Ted DeBiase (95) <option>Day 60: Jake Roberts (88) <option>Day 61: "Phycho" Sid Vicious (51) <option>Day 62: Lance Storm (85) <option>Day 63: Petey Williams (79) <option>Day 64: Al Snow (81) <option>Day 65: Jeff Hardy (69) <option>Day 66: Bill Goldberg (64) <option>Day 67: Matt Hardy V.1 (82) <option>Day 68: "American Dragon" Brian Danielson (84) <option>Day 69: CM Punk (82) <option>Day 70: Hayabusa (87) <option>Day 71: Buff Bagwell (56) <option>Day 72: "The Dynamite Kid" Tom Billington (90) <option>Day 73: Edge (79) <option>Day 74: IRS (82) <option>Day 75: Haku (64) <option>Day 76: Lenny Lane (73) <option>Day 77: "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels (91) <option>Day 78: Marc Mero (77) <option>Day 79: Big Show (82) <option>Day 80: Biily Kidman (75) <option>Day 81: Barry Horowitz (68) <option>Day 82: Brooklyn Brawler (66) <option>Day 83: "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka (74) <option>Day 84: Disco Inferno: (77) <option>Day 85: "Rowdy" Roddy Piper (92) <option>Day 86: Rhyno (84) <option>Day 87: Batista (80) <option>Day 88: Terry Funk (88) <option>Day 89: Shane Douglas (85) <option>Day 90: Rene Dupree (77) <option>Day 91: Chris Sabin (81) <option>Day 92: Tajiri (88) <option>Day 93: "Ravishing" Rick Rude (94) <option>Day 94: Tatanka (83) <option>Day 95: Gobbledy Gooker (47) <option>Day 96: The Sandman (71) <option>Day 97: 2 Cold Scorpio (89) <option>Day 98: Mike Awesome (75) <option>Day 99: Dean Malenko (88) <option>Day 100: Bob Backlund (90) <option>Day 101: Marty Janetty (78) <option>Day 102: Juventud Guerrera (83) <option>Day 103: LA Park(a) (85) <option>Day 104: Greg "The Hammer" Valentine (81) <option>Day 105: The Honky Tonk Man (83) <option>Day 106: Viscera (42) <option>Day 107: King Kong Bundy (70) <option>Day 108: Ultimate Warrior (84) <option>Day 109: Bam Bam Bigelow (89) <option>Day 110: Chris Candido (79) <option>Day 111: Perry Saturn (82) <option>Day 112: Stevie Richards (87) <option>Day 113: Tommy Dreamer (76) <option>Day 114: Justin Credible (69) <option>Day 115: Tully Blanchard (96) <option>Day 116: Sgt. Now, even though he is the 'wrestler' who got me hooked into wrestling, I have to give him a 9.5, and not the 10 which my heart wants to give him, because you can't really put him up there with the likes of Bret, The Rock, or HBK. Not because he wasn't good enough, but because he wasn't pushed to their level, only up to upper-midcard. To go off-subject for a moment, you guys know all about the 'Rate The Moment' topic here, well, if I can use that for a moment, I think there's nothing more I'll like to see in the WWE, than Kurt Angle cutting a egotistical promo, then having that guitar riff, Kurt Angle looking around, Shamrock sliding into the ring. suplexing Angle and snap on the Ankle Lock. That would be THE moment to me. |
9. I always liked him :)

He wasn't anything special. Decent talent, but I didn't much care for him. His gimmick got old quick. He wasn't bad in the ring, but nothing he did ever made me stand up and take notice. I don't even think he was the best transitional guy from UFC to Wrestling either, Ron Waterman is an incredible former UFC Champ turned Pro Wrestler...better then Shamrock in my eyes. Oh well. I enjoy him enough to not have a bad taste about him, but nothing to make him go in my top favorites list...hence the slightly above average 6. |

To those who give him a six... you realize that Kevin Nash got a 61 in this thing, right? Ken Shamrock is at least a tad better than Kevin Nash, I'd say.
|
lol Ron Waterman better then Shamrock. When did Ron win the Tag, IC, and Hardcore belt in the WWF? When did Ron wrestle a championship match, and a dam good one, for the WWF on a PPV? When was Ron Waterman one of the most over babyfaces durng the most popular time in the WWE? Shamrock could of been champion easily and definately was over with the crowd as both babyface and heel. Shamrock was a perfect ir for the IC Title and was one of those guys that when you needed a face to step up and challenge the biggest heel, he was perfect for that. Shamrock was great in the ring and good on the mic. When he hooked that ankle lock, people stood up and cheered. I don't know how 6's come into play here

a very strong 9.
Was a good heel and a good face, could of improved on the mic, but he had this who mental flip thing in the middle of his matches that I really bought into. He wrestling skills were always improving and he was really something different as he had the legit UFC background. |
Strong 8.
I'd give him a 9 had he not left all of the sudden. |
lol.. I am looking at the rating history and...
Hayabusa is ranked the same as Ric Flair Balls Mahoney is ranked higher than Jeff Hardy Disco Inferno is ranked higher than Hurricane |

In the United States, Ric Flair is a legend, who is known by millions. In Japan....Hayabusa was the same exact thing. So why not? Jeff Hardy....Ball Mahoney...well, Jeff should be higher in my mind, but they are sorta similar, so I dunno. Disco and Hurricane...Well for fuck sakes, It's Disco Inferno! (/lara emily mode) |

Oh oh oh...and while we get to talk the talk, my personal favorite wrestler of all time (Billy Gunn) has won the IC Title, AND the Tag Title, AND the King of the Ring...all that Shamrock has done, except he also has a run as the Hardcore Champion...now outside of me how many people would say that Billy Gunn is better then Sting, because as well all know Sting never wrestled for the WWF... Just becuase Ron Waterman never got a chance to make his impact on WWF T.V. doesn't mean he wasn't a phenominal wrestler. In my eyes, and from matches I have seen from him he does a better job then Ken Shamrock. You can be mega over without having a drop of in ring skill, if you want proof look at Ultimate Warrior...you can have a good gimmick and it doesn't mean your a good wrestler, if you want proof look at Hulk Hogan...you can have a major title during a period of great company success and it doesn't mean your great, if you want proof look at Goldberg. Ken Shamrock in my eyes isn't anything more then a slightly above average wrestler...which is why I gave him a slightly above average (which in theory is a 5) score of 6. |
Greetings to all. As some of you older TPWWites know, I fly to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada every year for Christmas and it turns out this year that the computer was fucked up by a virus, cutting me off from my mod duties. Anyway, I'm just stopping in briefly to rate Shamrock, Sticky this thread and let you know that I'll be back full time on January 8th. I'm sorry for not mentioning my flight in the wrestling forum, and I wish you all a <s>crappy</s> happy new year.

Yeah, you can be mega over without having any ring skill, but that's wrestling. We're not just rating ring skill in here, well maybe you are, but nobody else is. It's a combination of skills and obviously Waterman was missing things. Until you make it to the big stage, you are nothing in my eyes. Waterman never made it and there's a reason he didn't. Phenomenal wrestler he was, but what has he ever done where the casual fan is going to say, "yeah, I remember him." Nothing
