World Junior Hockey Championship
Who's following the World Juniors???
Canada won 9-0 tonight over Germany. :y: Also of note, according to TSN, even though the USofA is hosting the tourney, the largest crowds so far have been for the Canadian games. |
that's because it's 2 hours south of Winnipeg and more tickets were sold in Winnipeg for the Tourny then in the states :p I am going to the games next week.
in the 3 games that Canada has played they've outscored the other teams 24-4
Canada is so fucking awesome
Usa is 2-0 I think. Ray Borque's son is on that team.
Yeah, USA is 2-0. They play Belarus next.
Remember when Belarus scrubbed Sweden in the Olympics in 2002 I believe. That is my favorite hockey game ever |
Yes LC that was a good game. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Although to be honest, I'm tired of hearing all about Crosby. I dont even think this guy is the next say Jagr or Yzerman or Sakic let alone Gretzky. He also whines alot, if you get to watch him in the Q league as I do. He doesnt wanna be touched much. Anyways, the three teams to beat this time in the tourney are Canada, the US and Russia. |
It was on TV earlier, I liked the rule differences compared to the boring ass NHL :y:
USA will once again triumph over the all mighty Iceland squad.
Obviously there isn't going to be huge United States following when the tourny is held in Fargo or wherever. The nearest real city is Minneapolis which is about 6 hours away.
Cause Fargo and Grand Forks who both have more people then Winnipeg aren't big cities.
Well they aren't really though..Winnipeg is not very big. Its not hard to beat.
The American fans should be supporting this tourney better than they are though.
Fargo isn't a big city
Fargo and Grand Forks are like less then 50,000 people, they are tiny cities. Winnepeg used to have a NHL team, so I would assume they have quite a bit of hockey support.
Are you kidding me? 50K is more than enough to support this. Hellllllllllll. Anyway, it just shows that Americans in general don't really care about hockey. Anyway, we already knew that.
^^^^^^
indeed we already knew that. Did you notice nobody in the U.S has noticed the nhl isn't playing. |
Americans generally don't have a passion for hockey, but Minnesotans definately do. At the same time, its not like any hockey is just going to make people stop and drool. Even with no NHL you can still find as much hockey in Minnesota as ever, its barely a change for us. People follow high school hockey closer than anything, and there are four or five top division college hockey teams that people follow real closely too. The only major affiliation that this state has with the juniors is that O'Sullivan is in the Wild's farm system. This is the time of high school tournaments and everything else, so the junior championships aren't the highest priority for people here. Sorry if it doesn't live up to your Canadien standards, but thats just the way it is.
yeah canadiens and there damn canadaien euros. :nono:
