Best New Wrestler Gimmick within the past Year

Poll

Mr. Nerfect 01-04-2005 04:44 PM

It was a toss-up between Carlito and Muhammad for me, but I chose Hassan, because I know he can be successful in the next few months if they keep him strong and innovatively booked.

As far as a gimmick actually being "new", I'd have to give the nod to Eugene. Everything else has been done in one form or another.

The Naitch 01-04-2005 04:56 PM

Triple C is definitely....cool

John la Rock 01-04-2005 04:58 PM

Hasan

V 01-04-2005 05:11 PM

Mordecai, CCC and Hassan

can't just pick one

OssMan 01-04-2005 05:34 PM

Carlito was my favorite wrestler of those but his gimmick is dum and will get old soon

Loose Cannon 01-04-2005 05:38 PM

Orton. Legend Killer. Started it in 2004

The Icon of Elisim 01-04-2005 05:50 PM

Carlito because I think his gimmick will have the most staying power

LK 01-04-2005 05:55 PM

Hassan

Orton as a heel=greatness. The new Orton is fairly plain, and I really hope that if he wins the title at NYR, he should turn cocky straight after it.

Anyway, Carlito isn't really a gimmick for me. Sure it gives him character, and is removed from who Carlito Colon really is, but I think it is just something built into him, and I think it will stay in one form or another.

Mordecai was another great gimmick, but he was made too human, and too weak. His brawl with Hardcore Holly ruined him for me. I hope Kevin Fertig returns with his "Seven" gimmick, though.

Can't argue with that. Carlito gets my vote.

I'm enjoying Hassan moreand Eugene is a more original idea but the gimmicks won't last.

Not like Carlito. Now that's cool.

MVP 01-04-2005 06:27 PM

Hassan without a doubt. CCC gets second.

Mike the Metal Ed 01-04-2005 06:34 PM

Eugene.

Corkscrewed 01-04-2005 06:37 PM

Hussan just over CCC. But if they turn Hussan into an anti-american, then definitely CCC by a long shot.

PorkSoda 01-04-2005 08:30 PM

Am I the only one who doesnt like CCC?

I voted for Eugene, but I wanted to vote for Hassan, I had second thoughts. I voted for Eugene because I think that hes really funny, everytime he comes on I always start laughing. Hassan though looks like a great wrestler in ring wise and he has so much heat with the crowd that it tops off Lesnars hatred for the internet.

Mayo 01-04-2005 08:34 PM

CCC gets my vote. The Hassan gimmick is a little bit too controversial and a lot of people will end up getting pissed with the anti-American sentiment.

I don't think so. It is only a matter of time before one crowd comes out and makes us believe in America again, by cheering for this guy.

SammyG 01-04-2005 09:06 PM

Alla ou ukbar ahed amon ai zo a Muhammad Hassan

When Raw comes to Toronto I guarantee he'll be cheered. Along with Christian. And Randy Orton will be booed.

Yeah well they started off by chanting "WHAT?" at him. It wasn't until JR/King started to say things that the crowd got into it.

I'm counting on that. Muhammad deserves a WMX8 Hogan reaction at least once while he's using this gimmick. I disagree with the fans not being into the whole thing. I think they were just trying to piss him off. I think Hassan is the best heel the WWE has had in a long time.

The Naitch 01-05-2005 09:14 PM

I'm sick of Eugene

I think the "Legend Killer" gimmick started in 04 though. Could be wrong.

Not really. He's more of an "anti-anti-Arab-American" character. As soon as he resorts to cheap heat he'll be "anti-American".

Impact! 01-06-2005 05:52 AM

its a tough call between ccc and mordicia but since ccc is still around he gets my vote.
