you know how when you listen to a CD enough times, when a song finishes you start to anticipate the next song? when I was like 10 I used to set that song on repeat and listen to it so much that even now when it finishes I keep thinking it is going to start again.

Ok, I will be open-minded here and ask you to explain the difference between trance, techno, house, jungle and the 50 other synthesizer/turntable-inspired genres out there and to provide some examples of each. So yeah.

Anyway, the song I love right now is The Boogie Man Song, by Mos Def.

Evil Vito 01-07-2005 07:18 AM

Can't put it to just one song. There are a ton of songs that generally get at least 1 listen a day from me. But I'll just go with my 3 favorite Maiden songs:

- The Wicker Man
- 2 Minutes to Midnight
- Wasted Years

Blue Demon 01-07-2005 09:14 AM

U2- One
U2- With Or Without You

SuperSlim 01-07-2005 11:27 AM

Seether feat. Amy Lee - Broken. Man I have listened to that track so much ever since I first heard it it's crazy.

In all genres the beat struture has alot to do with it, but I'll try and simplify it.

Trance: which is pretty much my fav genre, is what the name says it is. It's more psychedelic, more slowly building until it reaches a climax, goes insane.
My fav's are Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren. Check out Traffic by Tiesto for a good example. Then there's different varieties of trance such as Psy Trance like Infected Mushroom

Progressive House: is more electronic, less harder than Techno. Sounds similar to Trance, but the difference can be heard. Like others, there's different types like Acid House, Hard House and so on.
Ferry Corsten is my favourite Prog artist, check Out Ferry Corsten "Punk"

Techno: I'm not really into that much. It's roots are in detroit with such artists as Derrick May, but Techno has really faded as of late. Techno is pretty much all electroinc with percussive beats.

Drum and Bass/Jungle: Uses Techno beats, sometimes mixes in hip hop samples, can be aggressive or laid back. Adam Freeland is an example. I'm not at all into Drum and Bass

I hope that explains it.

Dark-Slicer Diago 01-07-2005 01:28 PM

1. Emma Lahana - Patiently
2. Seether ft Amy Lee - Broken
3. Iron Maiden - Blood Brothers
