What a stupid shit Matt Leinart is
COME ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
|
Yeah, he will break his arm or something, and USC will still win the national championship without him. Then all the NFL team will be like "WTF, he isnt even that good".
Then he makes no money because of it. The end. |
Staying in a college an extra year didn't seem to hurt Roy Williams
I don't know if he would even be the #1 pick. He probably would but I don't know, I just don't see him being a very good NFL player. |
He just wants to get majorly laid for an extra year by hot USC chicks
|
I don't get it either. From what i understand, he already has enough credit's to graduate, so it's not like he staying in school to get his degree. The only thing i can think of, is that he want's the extra year to develop, but that just heightens the chance of getting injured. If i was him, i would go pro.

Yea i was a bit disapointed. One never knows what'll happen but the risk is there of injury. I woulda gone pro for sure, he was guaranteed a top 5 pick.
|
big deal, he gets injured, he calls up McGahees agent and all is good :)
|
Maybe he just really likes college life? I don't know, everybody is saying this is like the worst move of all time but I don't see why its so terrible. USC will probably be even better next year, why not try to win THREE National Championships in a row? That'd be crazy. He is probably already making money anyways, star players in college aren't struggling for money. I figured he would come out if he knew for sure that San Fran would pick him though. Being from Cali and all i'm assuming he grew up a 49ers fan.
Also if he gets injuried so what, he still gonna get paid either way, thats probably what he's thinking. Sure its risky, but maybe he thinks its worth it. He would make a shitload more if he came out now compared to coming out hurt next year, but either way he is still gonna be making a shitload more money then the average person. |
Yeah I agree with Stima, its really not as big of a deal as people are making it. The chances that he gets a career ending injury are practically none, and the chances that he gets an injury as bad a McGahee are pretty slim aswell. What hurts somebodies draft position is when you have recurring injuries or multiple surgeries. Unless he breaks his neck next year, he is pretty much going to be a first or second round DP, and so what if he doesn't make huge bucks his first three years, if he is really that good he will make them for the next 15.
|
Yeah he is really stupid. Wanting to stay and get his education and his degree (I'm guessing he hasn't got it yet). He has all his weapons back next year, he will be better, the players around him will be better, therefore he more than likely raises his stock up tenfold.
Yeah, what a moron. Maybe he just isn't in it for the money and fame, although he knows if he stays another year, he could: -Win a threepeat -Be a two time Heisman trophy winner -Raise his stock in the draft even more, resulting in more money I like to see college guys stay and play their senior years. Props to Leinart. |
Agreed. Not only that, but its a good message, this guy could go out and have millions of dollars but he is staying to finish his college education. Props.
|
on the flip side, he blows out his knee and he just lost millions.
It's a tough call, I'd probably go to the pros, you can always finish your degree in the offseason. |
I thought he was taking a pretty good degree anyway... you know something to fall back on if something happens and will most likely make 150+ a year.
|
Its HIGHLY unlikely he will blow out his knee and never be able to play EVER again. Hes a stationary QB anyways, its not like he's gonna be making his money off his legs.
Whatever though, I would stay in college if I was him. He won't be as succesful in the NFL as he will be in the college IMO, enjoy it while you can. |
Plus he probally likes his dorm room in the ghetto where USC is located, versus a million dollar home LOL. Nah, mad props to him for not going into the draft.
|
I would stay.

I wouldn't stay, you can always go back and finish your degree (some do, some don't).
But, he could be set for life off his signing bonus and first years nfl salary. but, it's his choice. It's not like he's a round 4 type pick, looking to move up. He'd go round #1, and probably be one of the top QB's. |
He is going to make millons regardless, hes probably figuring he is gonna be set for life either way so he probably wants to give going for three in a row a shot. Not everything is always about money VEL.
Typical jew :shifty: |
lol

Yes, it rarely happens but it does. It's his choice, but financially it's a risk w/ little to gain. |
Little to gain? Maybe in your mind but not to him obviously. Little to gain money wise YEAH, but its more then just money.
|
Did you guys ever consider that there's life after football. What if Leinart retires after 3 seasons due to injuries/sucking. A college degree would come in handy. Also if he wins a 3rd national title and/or 2nd Heisman hell proetty much be considered the most prolific NCAA QB ever

LOL yeah seriously Bo, I know you are from 'Bama so you got no idea about Cali but cmon. USC isn't in Compton man
|
USC would still have won without him, they have Reggie Bush for a couple more years

Not extravagant, but comfortable and never have to work again, plus you can always go back to school and finish your degree. I have no problem, it's his choice, but seems like a huge financial risk. I'm also in favor of some form of finacial reward system for college players, to keep them from turning pro early. Chris Webber said he went into a McDonalds and orderd a fish sandwich and didn't have enough money in his pocket, and that's when he decided to come out early and go pro. |
Maybe he just wants to play another year of college football, you are getting so hung up on his degree. I think he just wants to play another year at the college level. USC has a shitload of fun it seems like. So why would he want to leave? He is "comfortably" set for life wether he comes out this year or next year. It seems like Lienhart and VEL have completely different views. Maybe Lienhart actaully isn't it for the money..but for the fun of actaully playing the game? Imagine that

I'm not saying he's a "stupid shit" like the person who started this thread, just doesn't make a whole lot of sense, career wise or finacially, either way it's a huge risk to take. Hopefully, he wont be looking back in a year and saying "WTF" was I thinking! |
He won't, look at McGahee.
|
he doesn't want to become another Ryan Leaf

Now he's had time to recover and prove himself, but if it wasn't for his agent making the Bills think the Patriots were scouting and interested in McGahee, he never would have gone in the 1st round. |
