Favorite Royal Rumble?

We are very close to the Royal Rumble so before I forget what was your favorite so far?

Speaking of Rumbles JBL is the only man who still wrestles in the WWE that was in the 98 Rumble

FakeLaser 01-22-2005 08:50 PM

1992

It's not a bad choice at all. :y:

My pick is 2001, though. It was the first I saw, it had all these characters I loved and cared about, and I got to see guys I didn't know that well in it. It was an hour I really felt good about. Especially with Kane entering #6, and eliminating a record amount of people before becomming runner-up to Steve Austin. It really felt like it could go any way, too.

The Answer 01-22-2005 10:39 PM

Both that HBK won

foodstampchamp 01-22-2005 11:18 PM

92. Flair played an awesome underdog.

He was released.

Pegasus Crawford 01-22-2005 11:52 PM

The '92 Royal Rumble is a match I never really get tired of watching.

DaveWadding 01-22-2005 11:59 PM

1991, then 1992 a close 2nd.

Ferocious 01-23-2005 12:02 AM

Hacksaw Jim Duggans low bridge, that is all.

I-Hate-You 01-23-2005 12:23 AM

How come 04 isn't on there?

#1-norm-fan 01-23-2005 12:28 AM

I went with '96 though I'm thinking now I liked '95 more.

Ninteen Ninety Two

Mr. Nerfect 01-23-2005 12:58 AM

1992 was great as well. :y:

Hopefully 2005 blows them all away. Just for once I'd like to see something where EVERYONE makes it past the 30-man entry stage. This could be grounds for pumping it up to 20 people from each brand next year.

Royal Rumble 92 one of Ric Flair's greatest moments

yeah 2001 kicked arse specially with kane and hhh and stone cold!

Team Sheep 01-23-2005 05:33 AM

My pick is 2000. It was my first Rumble and i remember being excited all the way through it. I've been looking for the DVD for ages but can't find it anywhere. I guess they've stopped making it by now. Oh well...

PorkSoda 01-23-2005 08:38 AM

I've seen all of them (Except for 00, 01, and 03) and its hard to pick one, but 04 is actually one of my favorites. 92 is too predictable, the announcers pretty much gave everything away, like they were putting Flair over so much that you knew he was going to win even if you never saw or heard what happened. It was a good rumble, just a little predicatble.

1991 has got to be a second favorite. It was great, the ring never was down to only 2 people (except for the first two) and there was once about 11-12 guys in there at once.

addy2hotty 01-23-2005 08:52 AM

1992 by far, Flair winning, the best performance by far ina ny Rumble, all the stories that were told in this one match - Flair/Piper, Savage/Roberts, Hogan/Taker, the start of the Hogan/Justice feud. Hearing Bobby Heenan shouting and screaming.

No Rumble has really come close to being as good. The other real great moment was when Stone Cold was left in the ring in 2002, and HHH came down (albeit taking nearly 2 muinutes to get there!)

It is however, still the best event but has become insanely predictable over recent years. Just like this year's is. If Batista doesn't win, I'll eat my keyboard.

Eunos 01-23-2005 11:06 AM

Personally i pick 2004.

An excellent Rumble which was deservidly won by Benoit

Honerable mentions go to 1992, 1998 and 2000

Fox 01-23-2005 01:55 PM

I pick 2004 as well. The ending with Benoit and Big Show was enough to ensure that.

Shaggy 01-23-2005 02:33 PM

Flair definently made 92 great.....

Marcyo 01-23-2005 02:37 PM

2002 and 2004 were great

46 & 2 01-23-2005 02:37 PM

04 gets my vote for #1, with 96 in a very close 2nd.

Also, Rikishi is the losingest Royal Rumble entrant - he's been in 9 without winning any, despite coming in at numbers 30, 29, and 28, and despite JR's screaming "WHO THE FUCK IS GOING TO BE ABLE TO ELIMINATE THAT FAT FUCK?!!!", "THEY'LL NEED A CRANE BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER SEEN HIM ELIMINATED BEFORE IN THE SEVERAL OTHER RUMBLES HE'S BEEN IN!!", "BUSINESS HAS JUST PICKED UP, KING!!", etc.

Joe Kerr 01-23-2005 02:58 PM

46 & 2 curious as to what the hell that means.

not sure on my fav RR I liked the one where Goldust Mr.Perfect and Val venis made there return..Mr. Perfect was the man.....makes me want to revive my Perfect thread......in fact Im doing that now.

Joe Kerr 01-23-2005 03:08 PM

Well I brought it back but out of disrespect For Mr. Perfect it was deleted. :(

Astley316 01-23-2005 04:23 PM

Iwent for 92, had some good matches and was the first one i ever saw

Evolution 01-23-2005 04:49 PM

I went with 01. Could have gone any which way with The Rock, Undertaker, Kane, Big Show and Stone Cold in there.

Seen as how everyone is saying their second fave, mine is 97. The one Austin won but didn't win.

The Mackem 01-23-2005 06:54 PM

I honestly did not know there was an 88 Rumble.

The Ravishing One 01-23-2005 06:57 PM

1992

Then 1991.
