If your thinking about having a tape clearout on Ebay be warned. Vince is after you!

if anyone is selling WWF, WWE, WCW, ECW AWA, and/or Smokey Mountain video's on eBay or on your own website, be prepared to receive a legal letter from the WWE for copyright infringement. BE FOREWARNED!!!

I'd hate to be Derek right now... Whatever happened to that guy anyway :o

KayfabeMan 01-23-2005 01:14 PM

Just put up an auction for an old WWF magazine, and say that the winner will get X amount of tapes for free. Then set your reserve price at whatever you want, and :)

Dave Youell 01-23-2005 01:16 PM

Serisouly though what can Vince actually do?

Can Paramount going to stop people selling 2nd hand DVD's?

Loose Cannon 01-23-2005 01:18 PM

LOL, that's bullshit. They can't do jack sqaut on ebay. All you got to do is hide the "WWE/WWF" logo and your fine.

Shaggy 01-23-2005 01:30 PM

thats just like the people on there who are selling a piece of paper....and if you are the winning bidder you get a tape or something for free....thats how you get around those stupid things.

Rob 01-23-2005 02:36 PM

If it's the real tapes then they can't do anything. If it's bootlegs, they can.

Gouda 01-23-2005 03:05 PM

Gouda: But I'm not selling WWE tapes! I'm selling WWF tapes!
WWE: That is us.
Gouda: No, you're the WWE! Show me a WWF logo on your old footage.
WWE: ........ We can't.
Gouda: I win! Cheese for all!

It's a good thing I don't have any left then isn't it. I sold about 3 on eBay and the rest at Fat Bob's in the market.

But I might buy one off a friend and sell it on eBay just to recieve a letter from Vince.

Cactus Sid 01-23-2005 06:29 PM

Sh</>it :|

No-one's watching the auction at the moment, if you check it out next Sunday I doubt they'll be many bids if any, so I'll sell it for £25 quid inc. P&P.

SuperSlim 01-24-2005 02:47 PM

ya know if you would have sold them in the states I would've bought those things off ya

I honestly think it would. How many people here can honestly say they have recieved a letter from WWE (and a RAW Magazine Subscription Renewal Form doesn't count).

Wow.. maybe you could see the letter on EBay too.. XD

Crippler 666 01-27-2005 04:24 AM

He can do alot. You only have the right to privately view the tapes / DVD's you then are SUPPOSED to get the permission of the manufacturer to resell the goods.

In the event of a name change or take over all old stock maybe recalled so it can no longer be sold over the counter...

... That is why i have purchased as much ECW off the web as poss as Vince is only releasing shit

DarkAngel 01-27-2005 10:50 AM

there's so many ways around it

completely differnet example...

someone was selling hockey tickets on ebay, supposidely there is a price limit for which tickets can be sold by people, so in small letters at the bottom, he said if the bidding price goes over the amount, the extra amount of money will be put towards a random hockey card

Cactus Sid 01-30-2005 12:04 PM

Pretty cheap plug, but my auction ends in about 5 hours.
