WTF is with the US Title...
 

I just came back from the house show here in Honolulu and John Cena had his US Title, but it was all silver and the middle plate was spinnable. When the hell did this change (the look of the belt) happen?

The Week after he won it I think.

he debuted it at Amageddon when he faced Jesus... atleast i think it was Armageddon..

Heh...I'm sorry, but I have to digress with the pack on this one. I do like the belt when it comes to the gimmick that Cena has, along with that he's now won it 4 times since Wrestlemania 20 (or was it 3? I'm not too sure). It's more symbolic for him than anything (like when Austin had that smoking skull belt).

Well, let's hope that much like Austin's smoking skull belt, WWE will go back to using the previous U.S. Title belt whenever Cena drops it.

Why in the hell would they make a customized mid-card belt anyway? I do agree with them making a new belt and not going back to the old one. That one sucked too. It's time for a new IC belt as well. It's funny that HHH hasn't had a belt specially designed for him, since it is "his" belt.

It pretty much was. I mean, it was whipped out and handed to him, and even though it's really the WCW title, it's not treated as such. For all intents and purposes, it was made specifically for him/.

However, the spinning plate is fucking moronic. I kind of like the still image, but every time I see the title on TV, I fucking cringe. I wonder when hip-hop went all "Queer eye for the straight guy," and when the WWE followed suit.

Look at how many fans have signs with a relica of the spinner on it. Thats enough to tell me the belt is awesome.

I like the old WCW version of the US title, but you cant argue when something is working. I actually like that its silver, its something different if nothing else.
