Emmit Smith retires

one of the best ever :y: always seemed like a class act aswell.

Triple A 02-03-2005 06:32 PM

Good. Finally.

Triple A 02-03-2005 06:35 PM

lol he signed a one day contract with the Cowboys and then retired. That rules.

MoRcHeEbA 02-03-2005 06:38 PM

he should have got them to give him a 10 year contract, then said he was gonna retire the next day, and then be like PSYCH START PAYING BIATCH

Innovator 02-03-2005 06:39 PM

Damn, it was coming sooner or later but it's still a shame he hangs them up.

RoXer 02-03-2005 06:47 PM

:(

I think a lot of his legacy was taken away in the last couple of years, but in my opinion even in his later years he was a good running back. In his prime, he was amazing though, I don't think he gets fair credit.

The Outlaw 02-03-2005 07:37 PM

He was amazing in his prime. He should have took a note from Barry or Jim. I would rank him below them two, and Gale as well as Sweetness of course.

BCWWF 02-03-2005 08:04 PM

Wasn't the best ever by any means, but he was something special in his prime

Jerichoholic 02-03-2005 08:43 PM

nah, best ever. HATERSSSSSSSSS

road doggy dogg 02-03-2005 10:53 PM

For his sake, it was nice to see him retire after having a really good year on Arizona. He could have been a bust this year and retired on a sour note, but he had a great year. I still think a few are better all-time than him, but he's obviously still one of the top 3 ever.

Gonzo 02-03-2005 10:57 PM

One of the best definitely. Even though for the most part he played for a division rival, you have to give some respect to the guy.

John la Rock 02-04-2005 06:38 PM

One of the best ever

Aikman - Smith - Irving - Sanders = BEST TEAM EVER!!!

Adder 02-04-2005 07:40 PM

Best ever after Walter Payton IMO.

Jim Brown was the best I think.

Jim Brown was #1 for his sole hatred of the white man

BabyHugger 02-08-2005 03:51 AM

Overrated.

#1-norm-fan 02-08-2005 05:21 AM

I didn't even realise until a few weeks ago how close he came to rushing for 1,000 yard last year. Pretty amazing considering 1) He played for Arizona who was playing from behind alot and 2) He was supposed to be "over the hill" 5 years ago.

One of my all-time favorites. Bad times. But atleast he retires as a Cowboy although it would have been cool to actually have him come back and actually play another game for them.

Adder 02-09-2005 12:11 PM

He wasn't overated. Shit. He single handedly won the 1993 SuperBowl. Granted he wasn't as fancy a running back as Payton or Sanders was, he'd however simply run through people. He was dominant.

He wasn't flashy or any of that junk. He just got the job done. One of the best running backs of all time IMO.
