Volchok 02-07-2005 06:18 PM

i have a feeling this movie will be all special effects and nothing else. it'll probably suck. spielberg's past his prime.

No

Danny Electric 02-07-2005 11:37 PM

Rain Man, get the book out of the library by H G Wells or try and get a copy of the Orson Welles radio play thing that they did of the book. I've heard bits of it and it's awesome.

Boondock Saint 02-08-2005 03:10 AM

Can't wait.

VJW 02-08-2005 09:33 AM

I saw the original on tv.

The Destroyer 02-08-2005 09:55 AM

I've not seen the trailer, but I'm interested to know what exactly has made it the most expensive movie ever (supposedly).

House of Pancakes 02-08-2005 10:07 AM

it's not the most expensive movie ever. they found a way to actually budget it at around $100 million, i remember reading on comingsoon.net.

Have you scene the Superbowl teaser trailer?

That shot probably cost $54 million alone.

$128 million, apparently. Guess the magazine who claimed it was the most expensive movie ever were lying...

Jason Cage 02-08-2005 08:36 PM

yup this looks fuckin hot.

Funky Fly 02-08-2005 09:28 PM

Are you shitting me? As if one of those ancient minivans could outrun an alien onslaught. This is gonna be a big pile of shit.

Requiem 02-08-2005 09:56 PM

The book is good.. I think the movie will be pretty good. I never cared for the first movie.

Loose Cannon 02-08-2005 10:56 PM

yea, my dad was telling me about the Orson Wells thing. I was like wtf?

Kris 02-09-2005 12:19 AM

Yeah man, it's a script by a little known author, H.G. Wells or something, he had his first big hit with that Time Machine shit that hit a couple years ago.

Orson Welles is honestly one of my hereos.

The Cerebral Assassin 02-10-2005 04:28 AM

The special effects looked shitty. Diarrhea shitty!!

#1-norm-fan 02-10-2005 06:08 AM

I have a copy of the original radio broadcast. I remember being really into it as a kid when my dad told me about it. How people were seriously freaked out because they thought it was all real. Crazy.

Danny Electric 02-11-2005 10:28 PM

Kris calling H G Wells a little known author. Funny stuff. :)

MVP 02-12-2005 12:34 AM

Mr. Nerfect 02-12-2005 08:57 AM

I probably won't see this movie, but just to elaborate, Orson Wells=the man. :y:
